Let’s just wait and see what the footswitches control
If they are tap / hold and you can access 2 or 3 scenes that’s fine for most
Sounds like they each toggle between two, for a total of four, which is actually quite sensible. Worst case scenario is a double tap from one to the other.

Just watched the unboxing from Andertons. Other than the constant talk over each other chatter, some KILLER tones going on.
Love how Rabea was changing stuff on the fly with his phone while Pete was playing - swapping out captures from his personal cloud collection. Very cool.

Probably already posted:

If I were in the market for this type of widget, why would I go with this over the Kemper Player? They provide waaaaay more effects and have more foot switches/visual indicators so I know what preset in on.
If you wanted to capture one of your amps, you couldn´t do it with the Kemper, but you could with this.

I think a missed opportunity to make one of those pre effects a capture so you could run a drive capture into your amp capture
Alas, there is no 1000% emoji. This was one of the QC's main improvements over Kemper. There are a zillion drive captures on the cloud along with all the amp captures - who wouldn't want to mix and match?

I don't think Kemper could even add Profiling to the Player if they wanted to based on how their Profiling process works. It doesn't have enough inputs. Unless they reworked Guitar In, made the USB connection work with some kind of weird dongle input or did something with the pedal jack.

Fwiw, at least for me this would be a *way* more interesting thing in case it could run 2-3 captures simultaneously and no FX at all.

Kemper reverbs and delays murder QC ones.
I'm not saying they don't but it misses the point. When someone builds a board and uses a "mini" pedal for an amp, its because they have delays and reverbs and boosts they already like. The person who buys this pedal couldn't give a toss about the included reverb except as an occasional gap filler. Its for making and playing back captures.

I know it's NDSP and how this forum feels about them. But boy have we all just taken a jaded approach on new gear.

I wonder what it will take to get back to excitement about new gear? Maybe it's a digital specific issue?
Two part answer:

1. Absolutely. Some (looks in mirror) more than others.

2. I blame the gear glut on most of this. Not to get all TB5 on anyone but we are all at a point where we have delay pedals for our bathrooms so it's kinda hard to trip any real "oooooh this was missing from my life!" triggers at this point :rofl

With all that empty real estate above ‘nano cortex’, why oh why couldn’t they have put a small simple screen to at least let you know what preset you’re on. 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like they each toggle between two, for a total of four, which is actually quite sensible. Worst case scenario is a double tap from one to the other.
That actually is not bad considering the are promoting
100% gapless switching

Yeah, but if you were interested in FX would a Cortex be your first choice either?
absolutely not. QC's strongest suit is the amp modelling and touchscreen/poo switches. But the QC is more about building an entire chain in one preset, this is a capture player with a few utility bits thrown in.

If you have a pedalboard with the stuff you like already and you don't need the FX/routing/extras of the QC this would fill a role.
