I think this will fit the bill for a lot of people who are looking for pedal board based amp replacement. If they have an amp they like, they can profile it and then have a direct option to use with their pedals when bringing their amp isn't practical. This doesn't really seem to fit the bill as an all in one solution to direct guitar tone given the limited effects implementation. It is basically a direct competitor to the ToneX as I see it.

I'm not interested in profiling at this time and the Fractal FM9 fills the all in one direct use live rig bill for me, so the Nano Cortex is not for me.
 
600mA power requirement is nice…

Combined exp/midi input is not so nice.

So you have to choose between MIDI or exp and can’t use both?

Right, but if I have a collection worth capturing, won't I want foot switches to access several captures/presets for a recording/live gig session?

Also, how many guys actually have the gear these days as opposed to people who want captures of "all the amps"? I'd wager, QC's customer base means waaaaay more toward the latter (as does Kemper and Tonex).
 
Neural are generally pretty good at knowing what to strip back on to keep a product concise. I was a bit bummed at first that its just a capture player, but for better or worse, these capture players are the "thing" atm. I'm not interested, but theyve done well to get this kind of product out (think how long it took Kemper to release their one and IMO they didn’t get it quite right).

Imagine the average music store person’s response to the average guitarist when they ask you make a model for ToneX/Kemper Mini/NC.

I think to the average guitarist, they’re also going to view NDSP as more cool, futuristic, modern and advanced than IK. The fact that tonex models are more accurate won’t really matter at all here.

If I were in the market for this type of widget, why would I go with this over the Kemper Player? They provide waaaaay more effects and have more foot switches/visual indicators so I know what preset in on.

The one thing I didn’t like about the Kemper Player that I hoped this would fix is the display of your current amp settings.

Looks like the LEDs sort of do this, but I can’t understand why they wouldn’t be endless encoders.

Also the power requirements of the Kemper

IDK, if I was interested in FX Kemper wouldn’t be my first choice. If I was interested in making amp models, this is better than the mini kemper in basically every way. Mini pedal means more on the room for the fx you like anyway, isn’t that the point?
