He is definitely one of the new wave, younger generation guitar players. He doesn't like most things that are traditional. I can't stand the guitars he plays. I typically am not a big fan of most things he loves. I do like to watch his videos just to get a different opinion from someone that is playing live, not that I agree with a lot of his opinions.

EDIT: The TS probably just doesn't mesh well with the other gear he chose, at least for his taste. He may also not really understand the pedal and how it was designed to be used.

There are. There was that one guy who was completely divorced from tempo, melody and technique, but had a ridiculous collection of PRSs. And was doing full fledged "reviews" of them which were, let's say, hard to watch.
When they sniffed him out they brigaded his channel and bullied the poor guy into closing it, which wasn't very nice.

But aside from that, it's not uncommon to have ridicilous posts on /r/guitar where people just starting are getting all the most expensive guitars, pedals, amps... Falling into "I need this or that to play" without actually putting in the time.
That's where this whole "is this good enough for start" meme format on /r/guitarcirclejerk came from.
