You can tell from the annual ring pattern in that denim guitar that they just grabbed two random pieces of maple and threw them together without even taking a glance at how it looked.

Whatever it is on that one it was the one they chose to represent the model in marketing materials so I assume it looks the way they want it to look.

I can guarantee you no company just throws out something random they didn’t even care to look at in their marketing campaigns

It was a stock photo of a production guitar from a retailer. Not from Gibson. :idk

Are there more pictures of the same guitar?
Book matching is actually pretty easy and I don’t get why they would not do it .

I had an original 57 gold top in a few years ago that someone had stripped off the gold to convert it into a burst but the two pieces were so different. One was an amazing flame and the other looked like an old floor board, no figure at all . The seam was also off centre and not straight. I repainted the gold and reliced it to look original. There are quite a few bursts out there that are or should that be were gold tops . Off centre joint is a dead giveaway and tampering with the serial number from a 7 to a 9.

Unfortunately, it’s the only angle:

Asking their sale department for other views as I type this.

Green is my favorite color. Except seafoam green or any silly title for it someone came up with for that milquetoast excuse for a color. While I’m at it, Daphne Blue can fuck itself, too. Part of the reason I avoid Miami is because I can’t stop flipping off the buildings.

It’s a stock photo supplied by Gibson to retailers though. Not one the retailer took themselves of stock they have
That’s lazy marketing IMO. If I’m shopping for a guitar on your website, I want to see exactly what I’m shopping for. Sure, it’s fine for solid finishes, but when it comes to figured tops, actual pictures matter. With their “Guitar Gallery,” Sweetwater is one of the few who is doing it right.

Probably the nicest match. Still think the 80's stone-washed denim look is hot garbage. But that is preference.
