NDSP Quad Cortex

You know, looking at that schedule, what does "P-I" mean? I wonder if they could release the next five all in the next update but are choosing to slow roll them.
I don’t think they can
Someone above made a really great point that I never even thought about , they are not “porting “ plug-ins , if they were just converting existing blocks and pulling them over that would likely be much simpler
The fact is they are basically rewriting the entire thing to work within the confines of the QC whatever they are
That’s a totally different ballgame and you can see it as they are adding different effects updating graphics to match the Cortex Control
That’s a lot more work

Fellow QC users, how dynamic have you found captures to be? How are they when rolling off guitar volume? Do you find the models to be significantly better in this regard?

In general I have found volume rolloff less satisfying than real amp (obviously), fractal fx3, Dimehead NAM player. It works until around 7-8/10 on my guitar then there seems to be a pretty significant drop in output and more ‘sterility’ to the sound. I haven’t seen a big difference in this behavior when comparing the models vs. captures. In terms of dynamics with full volume I am satisfied and overall still love the QC.

It works really good, on both amp models and if the capture is a dynamic amp, it will clean up

The ToneX captures are up. Hopefully they post the QC captures soon.
I keep checking their site lol, I just wanna compare them to the Mark 35 DI captures I got from GuitarJon.

This email from NDSP the other day made me laugh.

“The release of CorOS 3.0.0 in July added plugins to the Quad Cortex for the first time ever.

With the beautiful, versatile Archetype: Plini X and the heavy, aggressive Archetype: Gojira X, it was a strong start to a highly requested feature.”

Don’t they mean “a feature that we sold the entire QC premise on and then completely failed to deliver for years.”

They really are a bunch of complete and utter piss takers.

We did some captures of my least "capture friendly" amp on a friend's quad, and it did pretty good. It's difficult to say if that result was representative of the QC in general, as it was one capture and there was quite a bit of alcohol involved. Captures I've done of the same amp with NAM have been considerably closer.

I emailed support in my impatience, and they said it’s dropping tomorrow!
Dropped!

Dropped!
Purchased and waiting for Cortex Cloud to reflect it! I’ve been using mostly amp+cab captures, back to the land of IR choice anxiety lol

Mine are in my folder now. I haven't tried them yet but hoping to tonight or tomorrow.

They sound sick in my opinion!

I’ve had a lot of success with having two amp captures in parallel, it just sounds a lot more “full” when I find two captures I like and throw them on a split. I need to play the QCs cabs and compare them to the IRs I’ve got.
