NDSP Quad Cortex

I like the POG-like tones from the pitch block on the QC. It’s actually one of the effects I really dug on it. Would be better if it was polyphonic though, doesn’t handle chords great, but tbh few of them do.

Yes, I like that one, too. Definitely one of the stronger ones in the QC.

Does it do the “envelope part also”?
This thingy: (octaver on zero, only envelope on)

No it doesn't do the envelope part.

And the Halo delay talk... if all you need is some 3/16 & 1/4 dual delay with some modulation and cross-feedback control, pretty much any modern modeler or delay can get you there. But that doesn't get you to the specific Halo delay thing IME, only the Halo pedal and @AlbertA's FAS recreation does.

The two areas where the QC (as of FW 1.5, I think?) was very much not "in the ballpark" for me were two I use all of the time: Spring reverb and super-spacey reverbs that preserve a lot of clarity/dry signal as well.

I had hope when Neural announced several "space-themed" reverbs as being part of the launch lineup, but you know.....

Performance issues.

In all seriousness, I used to record stuff mostly dry and apply Eventide reverb plugins in my DAW after the fact, but the FM9 reverbs (even before FW6 redux) were so good that I started printing to my tracks.

I actually came really close to buying another QC last week and ultimately this was what stopped me.

I saw a video somewhere of a guy showing the super spacy big sort of reverbs in the QC and it did not sound good. Really flat and murky. Then he showed a UA Golden and Starlight in front of the QC and it sounded 100x better.

I love spring reverb too. I started thinking I’d have to plan for a pedalboard so I could add a Surfy Bear

I'm not saying you'd dislike the QC @metropolis_4 (you've had one before) but already thinking about next purchases before getting an alleged all in one solution just seems counterproductive and will get you back in the hole you were in that led to you taking a step back.

I'm just a random internet stranger so absolutely feel free to toss my opinion to the side. I just feel like I've seen this "movie" before 😂

I’ve reached the point where I have to get something. There’s a local pro who I have a ton of respect for and he recently started using a QC, so I started talking to him about it and hearing what he had to say was really making me feel tempted to go that direction.

When you say you "have to get something", is this for an impending live gig or studio work? The reverbs are...fine for live work, IMHO. No audience would kick you off the stage, and I'm dialing back the mix/depth of reverbs for most live scenes in my presets anyway.

For studio/recording work? Much different story.

have to get something? Do you not have gear you use and like already?

WOW!!! Never heard a POG, or played one before!!@ If the POG pedals do that, I sm buying one tonight!@@

I consider a POG part of the essential pedal pack at this point, though I just like the three knob micro POG, to get my Muse on.
