Namm 2025 predictions

I’ve found Ibanez’s line pretty boring since the late 90’s. Probably why I only buy and own their guitars from that era.

I just said it at Sevenstring earlier this week, their last great year was ‘98. Once skunk stripes started showing up* it was a quick road the Edge Pro and since then they’ve just put out junk or just nothing interesting at all. The AZ line has been a hit for them, but I have zero interest in them.

*There’s no issues with the skunk stripes, it’s just the period they stopped making one-piece necks and the guitars felt different ever since. 90’s MIJ or GTFO.

I will say that this one is pretty bad-ass:

The only thing I’d change is the pickups (and logo) to nickel or chrome. I loathe gold on any guitar.

That one is pretty cool and it looks like they’re paying attention to Solar with those specs. There’s no way Solar isn’t eating into their sales at this point.

I also dig the pale moon ebony S series, I just don’t dig the S body for actual playing because it feels like playing an actual pancake.

I hear there's gonna be some new killer tube/ss preamp from some company named "ADA"...

I had that same ADA rig (minus the two straight 2x12 bottom cabs) when it first came out. It was great…right up until I got in a band and the other guitarist had some old Fender blackface 2x12 combo and everyone said they ‘couldn’t hear me’ and I couldn’t hear me either.
I hope the reissue power amp is better!

Sometimes that’s a good Market strategy
Even if not available until later in 2025
It gives thought and pause for people looking at other purchases
Hell look at AmpX
He had brought the same damn proto 4 years in a row 😂
And it will fuel the the fires in the Forums filled with speculation
Threads ahoy !!

This is very likely a good method to never really learn things as you can always rely on the LEDs rather than getting things into memory.
Which is also why "1200 chords for the strumming guitarist" (there's a german book named like that for real) is no decent method.
Learn how chords are built, memorize the basic shape, then go from there by modifying the chords. There's maybe 1-2 pages of "rules" how to do that for 95% of all common chord work.

Honest question, maybe I’m dumb: why would Line 6 not release a Helix upgrade/Helix 2 of some sort?

Because you milk a cow as long as you can. And no, defenitely no pun intended, it's pretty much common business tactics.
I'm sure that once sales fall below a certain threshold, they will release a sucessor. But we don't exactly know the sales numbers or the amount of units L6 has to sell without going below that threshold.
