Namm 2025 predictions

The only thing I want to spend money on right now is some goldilocks "FRFR" that isn’t much bigger than a 1x12 powered speaker and moves air like a 2x12 or more features in an XR18 format mixer (8 auxes, more attention to the audio interface features). I think I’m going to have to spend money on a MIDI controller so I can get LFOs for Helix, so maybe someone will do something with a feature set like the MC6 but with just like, one button for $80.

I think next years NAMM show will have to go some to better this years German show for quality new products and the way it was run without all the noise .👌🍺
Guessing you're talking about Guitar Summit?
That's like the Dallas Int'l Guitar Show.

A show that's there for the end customer.

NAMM in comparison was a proper Trade show, there to get dealers to look at new gear and order plenty of stock.
The public day for tire kickers isn't what any manufacturer was there for.

If we look at the European counter Musik Messe in Frankfurt that's already history and it was the bigger show.

Where it still works is in Asia.

Since the business model has become more and more online only, NAMM is obviously going to go the way of the dinosaur.

Or more accurately, "Another potential hardware product that utilizes a vast array of wildly successful IP that's consistently expanded and improved upon every year for a decade, including complete engine rehauls and all new technologies?"
I'm sure that's what he meant.

Well done, you! (y)

What about a Variaxe pickup or Strat pick guard? Something that fits existing guitars without woodwork. I think that would be a hit.

It is much more than a special pick up, I recall peeking at the guts of a Tyler Variax and abandoning that same line of thought once I saw the bulk of what is under the hood. There will be woodworking needed with any guitar I’ve ever had, Strats included.

I’m well aware of that but in order to make the Variaxe idea work it needs to be able to retrofit onto existing systems.

Yeah. I’ll probably buy that too.

For someone that claims he doesn't like Friedman amps, you seem to know an awful lot about his business plans :hmm

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. :hmm

I actually love Dave. He's great. Just some quibbles with his ear. :idk

Probably the most boring event of 2024.
A shed load of the usual all expenses payed to go / review YouTubers 🤪
Then the usual big online Retailers doing there thing to make it look more exciting than a caravan site or a dead ant 🤣😂
Probably get YET another Rob Chapman BIG REVEAL 😳
Let’s face it he hasn’t done many this year 🤣 and nothing about the USA guitar company he bought a while back 🤣

I just want someone to get video of the inevitable YT Influencer Circle Jerk that will happen.

I'm on the same boat. I'm holding myself on getting a fender fr12 because I'm still not convinced of the size and weight change. A smaller and lighter solution that still sounds awesome and doesn't have a risk of having an annoying hiss volume, I would buy it on day 1.
