Lovepedal ‘Sale’

The Zendrive sounds killer with the 5e3 and Superlead too. That surprised me. At first there was too much wool but a slight bump in the tone and voice knobs get everything sounding and feeling great.

I get the popularity. The dumble thing has never been my thing, but this pedal works with a broad range of amps and IMO brings its own thing to the table.

This one is sticking around.
That's true, I bought the cheapo clone from Caline ("Mellow Drive") before I got the HX FX, and the HX "Dhyana Drive" sounds almost identical.

That said, I do like what it does, but not much enough to order the real deal. It's got a nice harmonic boost at low gain settings. Adds sweetness and makes notes "sing".

Reverb prices on Lovepedals are coming down to reasonable prices now. Seems about a year ago you were seeing everything for $200-$300, even if it just sold in an SNS for $100.
Except for the tube Zendrive. good grief! Must be very limited supply of those.

Yeah, it gets nuts. Still the cheapest Gold Zendrive is $180 and those sold for $100 at the last couple
of sales, as I recall. :idk

So I have to walk this back, but for valid reasons. In a comparison last night, the HX model sounded like a much darker, softer, lower gain version.

Then I realized the obvious mistake. I bought the gold II, the HX is almost certainly modeling the original.

If that’s accurate, I prefer the gold.

I’ve been glued to the JMP Eleven with a tele into my 1959 with channels jumpered.

Not sure if this thing was designed to be super niche and just does this one thing or what, but keeping the 1959 clean or at slight edge of breakup I get a literal crunch channel when the pedal is engaged, and then a modded Plexi thing with the boost kicked on.

It’s super chewy in the midrange, still very dynamic, and really just feels like it turned my 1959 into the 3 channel amp I’ve always wanted Marshall to put out. It’s frickin’ awesome.

My Bogner Blue pedal is better through my Fenders but too compressed for my Marshall amps. The JMP Eleven is sticking around.

I spent about a half hour with it, definitely not enough time to hear everything it can do. It doesn’t help that I have no clue what the fucking knobs do. :rofl Seems live Level, Fuzz, Bias(Tone?) Having to play at such a low volume it’s hard to hear what’s going on with the first two knobs below the halfway point, I need some daytime hours with it.

I dig it though, if the GE Dover were considered half fuzz/half distortion, this takes over where the fuzz part of that left off. There’s a definitely some usable tones in the lower gained ones. The thing I dig the most is that there’s a ton of room before it gets all nasty sputtery in the high end area. I’m anxious to find it’s sweet spot!

Very nice! Although my eye is twitching a bit with that right side knob. :rofl

Sweet! :banana

My experience with the Dragon Fuzzes is that one of them is Lo-Cut that takes it
from, Fuzzface to Treble Booster. Some people call it a "Blend," but to my ears it
is just rolling off Bass. :idk

Can you give us a gut shot to see if there is an Input Trim inside, and maybe what
kind of transistors it has??

Isn't that part of the mythic allure of these pedals and somewhat amgiguous characteristic of each variant of the pedal. It's up there with the whole SNS chase....
