Lovepedal ‘Sale’

I bet that is his latest take on the Dragon circuit. Fuzzface and Treble Boost in one. As I recall,
There is a Blend that acts like a Filter and rolls off Bass----so on one side you get all the wooliness
of an FF and the other side you get the slicing and dicing abilities of a TB. Or dial in your own
sweet spot somewhere in between the two.

Curious if he mentioned any particular transistors being used in that build. :idk

Nice to see some actual love for Lovepedal on the last couple of TPS episodes. First the, Eternity, and
now the Purple Plexi. :banana

Wish someone would have told Dan you can stack the Eternity into the Purple Plexi. :love

Jesus, that video I made comparing the 3 Dover Drives is up to 4,000 views and I think 98% of them came from that SNS thread at TGP. I’m going to make another one soon, I spent a good amount of time with them this weekend and found some sweet spots in each that show the differences far better than what I was able to do in that vid.

Keeping the same amp/pedal settings doesn’t even touch on the aspects of these that I love the most. I think once I go to build the pedal-based board it’s going to have both the GE and OG Dovers on it. Definitely the Tchula and most likely the Vintage Modern as well, the VM is the only one up for debate. It’d be the main dirt pedal for a rhythm tone, finding something with a more aggressive EQ would be nice.

Anyone order anything off that last sale? Just curious if anyone has received shipping notifications yet.

I’m really looking forward to checking out the JMP eleven when it gets here.

Not yet, I got a Red Dragon coming my way. I’d expect it any time, though!

Yup. It may or may not be someone's flavor, but they are legit. :chef

In my experience.

I emptied my mailbox earlier this week because one of the last ones I bought just showed up without the notification. Glad I checked it, there was 3-4 months of junk mail crammed in there. I’m getting anxious!

The Zendrive II gold showed up today. Cool pedal. Lower gain settings seem fairly transparent, higher gain settings are fat and juicy. It’s going to stick around for now.

I do have to say, my memory of the model in the HXFX has me thinking L6 is pretty dead on. I’m going to need to do a head on comparison soon.

The Zendrive is one of the few drive blocks I use in the Axe FX. My impression of it was that it was comparable to the Original Zendrive I bought from Hermida years ago.

I never did an A/B direct comparison to see exactly how close it was but the drive block worked fine and in a similar way with the amp blocks I paired it with, usually on predominantly clean presets, to give them some mild overdrive.

Same with the BB Preamp drive block. Those two pedals were the main ones I used at Jazz/ R&B gigs for years.

I’ve only had a half hour of actual playtime with the pedal, but experienced similar observations.

At lower drive settings the zen blended with my Princeton naturally, adding compression and light breakup to the amp’s own tone. It’s too early for me to make broad claims about transparency because there’s some tonal overlap in the BF fender and Dumble sounds.

The girth and picking response of the higher drive settings surprised me too. A nice natural higher mid gain drive that can be smooth or biting.

The Zendrive sounds killer with the 5e3 and Superlead too. That surprised me. At first there was too much wool but a slight bump in the tone and voice knobs get everything sounding and feeling great.

I get the popularity. The dumble thing has never been my thing, but this pedal works with a broad range of amps and IMO brings its own thing to the table.

This one is sticking around.

I actually plugged my Red Zendrive in last week, for some reason I thought that had way more drive on it than that. Goes to show how much I used it when I got it! I dig it, kind of made me debate if it’d be more useful than the Tchula, but I think I still dig the Tchula more. I particularly dig it into a really clean tone.

I used my Hermida Zendrive with both a 1965 Super Reverb and a Lacquered Tweed Hot Rod Deluxe for years. It worked really well with both.

I only used it for mild overdrive switching to a BB Preamp if I needed more gain.

Anybody ever try the Zendrive 2, with the tube? That one always interested me, too bad it's not made anymore. Used prices are a bit, high.:rofl

The Gold Zendrive is supposed to be Alf's non-tube take on the Zendrive II.
