I only watched this one, they normally don’t do metal anything with any gear so there’s that.
No need to watch anything else after that.
Not shown: half dozen picks littering the floor.
I only bought it because @Digital Igloo said it wasn’t for guys like me, and I don’t like to be challenged on my modeler compass.
That dude's a genius.I only bought it because @Digital Igloo said it wasn’t for guys like me, and I don’t like to be challenged on my modeler compass.
I had to look it up and I don't dislike that design. But I know it would no longer be a $180 box. Even the Boss IR-200 is nearly twice the price for that sort of design, minus the effects. Some guy at The Other Place™ shared a mockup design of what the POD Express' UI should look like, complete with LCD screen and six clickable encoders, given how it's supposed to be "aimed at people who want it simple"
From the FAQ:Why is the chassis plastic?
Also, with plastic it can be easier to integrate battery holders, battery doors, and whatnot. Why is the chassis plastic?
The name of the game here is portability and affordability. POD Express is the spiritual successor to Pocket POD, which also has a plastic chassis.
As a diehard L6 user for decades, thanks! As a professional writer, the FAQ is fluff. From the FAQ:Also, with plastic it can be easier to integrate battery holders, battery doors, and whatnot.

There’s also something about a hardware modeler that just feels better than plugins, which will be nice for travel.
Gotta love TOP.
“I’d buy it, if it had IR loading.”
Digital Igloo: “It can’t, because there’s not enough CPU power”
“But….I’d buy it, if it had IR loading.”
(...and a GX-1.....which I've deluded myself into expecting this year despite no inside knowledge; it's the main reason I'm not interested in the POD Express...)I expect they will release a GX-1000 at some point, and then maybe a GX-1000 Core.
