Haha, that really triggers my quirk. I want to enter whole numbers. Thinking "ah, well, that might be around 50%ish, but really could be anything between 47,77% and 52,43%..." drives me crazy.
In my ideal world, Focus view would let my enter: y:25%, x:50%
I know, I know...

Amps and pedals that don't even have scales around the potentiometers are particularly bad. For me, that's actually a deal breaker.
And it's one of the many reasons I prefer digital modeling.

Would it be cool that it was a full 3D Model - yes it would be, it would be an attention grabber for the first 15-30 minutes, then I would promptly forget about it. <like in a BWM, where you see that neat 3D model of the car, flashing lights are updated, door status, you think "That's pretty cool! and then forget about it for the next few years of ownership >

I know it's probably the player, but I like the punch I'm hearing out of these tones in the cleaner part of the spectrum.
I like the angled look
As do I, man. I think it's brilliant because it creates negative space around the corners FOR Focus View to even work right.

Too vague. I used to replace the original knobs of my amps and pedals with Loknobs, which turn the potentiometers into stepped controls (stepped controls are sooo satisfying...). That was a good compromise.

Sorry, I still don't get it. What would entering y=25%, x=50% on Focus view actually... y'know... do? They could be tied to dozens of parameters, all of which could easily change per zone based on proximity. It's very different from a traditional XY controller... which we happen to have as well, but on a totally different screen.
And you may be happy to know our XY Controller screen does display X and Y axis values both in percentage (0-100) and MIDI (0-127), specifically because it's a linear XY controller. It can be assigned to any number of parameters across different blocks: Press-hold the parameter, tap X (or Y) axis, done.

Besides satisfying my quirk... absolutely nothing! And because I know that, I wasn't criticizing it but just asked if I'm right that it's not possible to do. Maybe it sounded like criticism because I asked the question in the same paragraph where I criticized the look of Focus view (because of other things).
Edit: I just read my post again, yeah, that definitely came across wrong. My fault.

Oh my ftiggin’ word. Nevermind. Obviously no sense in offering a respectful criticism of an example of just one design approach taken (or not taken) by Line 6…despite making sure I qualified it by recognizing their genuine past and continued achievements in the industry.

Anyone has a right to disagree with their design choices, but when DI explains why they don't "follow" in good faith, you dismissed it and questioned his motivation.
You also asserted Fender is "establishing" some new paradigm, which doesn't seem even remotely accurate (Zoom, Overloud TH, etc ).
Morr people than you are saying they don't dig the offset approach, but they're not getting the same push back, so maybe there is sense in offering good faith criticism that actually is respectful...?

Let the picture of the device be in focus until you move the cursor.
At that point the model goes a little out of focus, still recognizable, as in photograph with lens apature softening the background, and at same time the parameters that are set to be effected have materialized around the space and they show the percentage and change in real time.
As soon as you stop moving it the model comes back to sharp focus and the numbers and parameter label fades out of ‘focus’.
Thus, focus.
It would give you the ability to see the numbers and experience the result of their relationship as you XY your way around. And be really cool man!!
Next move would be a thermin with 3D holographic display of frequency spectrum and modulation
