Line 6 Helix Stadium

Random shower thought this morning - Will Agoura bring L6 neck and neck with Fractal’s current gen offerings, or is it pushing ahead into something truly next gen on the modeling front?
We don't pay that close attention to what Fractal does (or anyone else for that matter). Yes, our Axe FX III is definitely in the room when we perform competitive sanity checks, but at no point do we listen and say "Oh, Fractal does this one thing here so we should do that too."

It'd be nice to have a few users back who may have transitioned to Fractal over the past few years, but we have zero interest in their long-term customers because Fractal's one of the few companies in this space that helps lift all ships. It's better for us that Fractal's around and doing well.
Going to answer a hard "hell naw!" because public/brand perception is HARD to change (I do B2B marketing for a living).
Yep. Even when we released those "Helix clips" recorded through Axe FX factory presets, a few Fractal fans insisted they sounded like ass. It's 90% blind brand perception and maybe 10% legitimate criticism. Sometimes it's difficult figuring out who's who, but we've been doing this a long time and are pretty good at hacking through the parsley to get to the steak.

"Helix can't possibly sound good because Line 6 made my first Spider amp, and even though I enjoyed it and learned a lot, some guys say it's crap and I'm just not sure" ...is a thing.
I'm wondering whether the Matrix view (mixer) will function globally and perhaps be effective here (which is why I brought up @Sascha Franck when I first read about it.)
The Matrix mixer is currently global only; shortly after launch you'll be able to choose whether it's global or per song. No per preset because that'd be a total mess.

You could still use them.

Mesas are sorely missed here. I hope they bring in Recto, Lonestar and Mark IV soon after release.
Why not just have the tweed be a tweed?

I'm 100% with sasha on this, "global" blocks or any other solution to the same need are a must have for those who play live.

One of the reasons I still prefer using a real amp is that I have access to amp control at any time and across all presets.

I know nothing but to me if there was new favorite list, called globals (with sub folders would be awesome) where you save all the blocks you want to be global would be enough.

Then every time you tweak a parameter in a global block Helix will automatically update it (there might be a preference for that) and every time you load a preset Helix will update all the parameters.

In order to be updated between presets blocks might be have the same same snapshot, footswiches assignment

Amp graphics on that beautiful screen don't reflect amp channel selection or jumpering!

That's unacceptable!

:rofl
I hope these graphics will be more detailed and make use of the great screen

So there are 2 bassmans?

Is the Vox their older vintage unit or a newer model? I hope they do the same thing with the Vox AC15 and model an older unit and a newer one.

Yes, there's a Tweed Bassman and a Silverface one. For the Vox, it appears to be a Custom Classic, which is a newer one. Maybe they'll add an older one at some point. I don't really know how different they sound though.

Yep they said the vintage fawn will be later
The goal I think is to Agoura all the amps in HX over time
Now maybe unless they did a new model like say something like a Recto if they got a hold of the new Chromeface reissue perhaps they would Agoura that and just leave the original in the legacy

Maybe? We care less about checking all the boxes than we do continuing to focus on the amps people want us to make, whether they already exist as HX models or not. I suspect there'll be some HX amps we may never get to because other never-been-in-Helix amps are higher priority.

I don’t know of that many amps that you are really missing to be honest
On the Marshall front maybe a Jubilee and some sort of hot rodded Splawn , Friedman or original Ben Jose like Mikah suggested

Obviously the Mesa camp is not represented at the moment but I am sure that will come

Out of the gate for the hi gain crowd a 5153, Revv, SLO, XTC is a pretty strong lineup

I'm not people, just a person, but I would be not at all displeased if a Marshall 4140 appeared in an update. But I don't know if there is anyone else out there who does and would elevate it to "people want" status, lol.

And I'm sure I'm not alone in this one, but I'd really look forward to an Agoura Grammatico GSG showing up someday.

They have chosen well for the first batch of Agoura Guitar and Bass Amps.

I dare say with all the channels also being in these models, they would cover an enormous amount of ground for an enormous amount of players.

Hey @Digital Igloo I see the d-10 has an optical "output"

Would it be possible for the Stadium to slave an optical adat.. like an 8pre and effectively use Stadium as a dedicated studio interface?

Follow up question... can the d-10 also run a simultaneous Variax signal while its transmitting/receiving via optical?

Love to hear that!

How are you determining which amps those are?

Ya the GSG would be cool I think that’s like a Dumble based amp correct ?
I might also be in the minority but a Matchless , DrZ and Divided Duo
Are also cool models
