Helix Stadium wishlist

Steve Sterlacci is walking the same tightrope.

Helix can already switch amp channels etc. I use it with my Mark III, Budda, and Recto all the time. Were you having trouble there?

I’m totally with you on the others. I’ve had BIG noise issues mixing HXFX and Helix fx loops with basically any high gain scenario and I don’t even use a ton of gain. I’m frankly not sure if that’s been addressed, but it severely limits where and how I can use Helix, which is in part why both my hardware devices have been sitting in boxes for months.

Day one with Stadium XL I will be introducing its loops to my amps. If there are noise issues, it goes back immediately and I move on. At $2k+ those just aren’t issues I’m willing to tolerate.
I agree if any noise at that price it’s unacceptable

I’m willing to accept some noise, as it’s hard not to raise your noise floor with digital loops and high gain tube gear. I’ve run into full on white noise as loud as my guitar signal in some configurations or with certain dirt pedals. I’d love for that behavior to improve.

My asks: an updated BOSS Dimension C stereo chorus (from the current one in the Helix Legacy section), and a Mimiq-like doubler stereo effect (like the KMA Geminus!)

I like doublers and dimensional effects to fatten up a tone. Add this old Sony boombox and there’s a switch on it and it just makes the stereo dimension like huge. I keep it on all the time I mean the switch on so I like that on the boombox so it’s a good idea to put it on tones in the modelers.

Well bedroom players really use this feature I mean come on we wanna hear more about the looper how advanced and intricate it is compared to the old helix and if there’s any effects that are new instead of the same old ones are their advanced effects??

Lists ways to use live on stage

DAMN BEDROOM PLAYERS

We know the effects are the same at the moment, Tim

I know I already posted this in another thread, but since this is the official, original wishlist thread…

Helix Stadium really needs reworked models of the Tube Screamer and SD-1. Both are absolute standards when it comes to overdrive pedals, and the current models just aren't good enough.

From me on the Acoustic thread, but probably lost in the chat about OP using AI or not in the first post

Feedback Suppressor (M20d had this per channel)
Dynamic EQ
Transient Designer

I say this with no snark or critical intent, but...uh...

What do you expect them to do with that?

If the Line 6 sound engineers were reading through this wishlist thread, what would "it's not good enough" tell them exactly?

I see people leave general critiques like this all the time, and I just scratch my head. It's one thing to say that if you're just chatting with your buddies or Internet randos or whatever. That's an opinion like any other.

But Line 6 actually reads this stuff and actually acts upon well-reasoned requests. Give them something specific.

For the record, I personally love the SD1 model and use it with the 2203 and Voltage all the time, but if there's a specific area it needs to be improved for accuracy.....I'm all in. I never use the Tube Screamer, and instead opt for the more "modern" takes on it (e.g. Plumes, Precision Drive) to boost my high-gain amps.

I sometimes wonder if folks are thrown off by L6 choice of tubescreamer. Historically they model the TS-808 instead of the TS-9. They don’t sound exactly the same and I’d wager a guess more people have experience with the TS-9.

Agree on TS. I don't know enough about the SD1

That‘s not the problem. The problem is that their model of the 808 simply does not sound like any version of a Tube Screamer.

@mikah912 Both the gain structure and the frequency response differ significantly from the real pedals (Maxon OD808, Maxon OD-9, Ibanez TS9, Ibanez OD 808) that I have owned. The Boss SD-1 model is slightly better, but it has much lower output than the real pedal.

While I do prefer the “real” 808 here, this doesn’t feel like a substantial enough difference to claim that model doesn’t at least resemble a tubescreamer. The main difference I notice is that the real device either has a wider dynamic range or is louder than the Hx model. The cleanup is also better on the real deal.

I’m not defending Hx drives, as I generally do not use/like them, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
