Line 6 Helix Stadium

I don't know - it just seems like it has a HUGE amount of gain. I don't know if they modeled a ringer or a modded amp or if they just didn't model it right? I don't like it too much to be honest.

Either way, I can't believe L6 wouldn't carefully archive their measurements, readings and notes after modeling something so rare and expensive (pushing $70K now) that is so hard to come by. It seems like it's gone forever for L6 unless they model a clone - which can vary in quality. I'd get a JM if they were to model a clone - not anything else.

Who knows - maybe someone will loan them an amp to model again. Don't know - all I know is that Fractal has one.

I get that a single type of boutique amp is all that and then some to you. Even if Line 6 still had the Trainwreck and full notes of it, there’s no guarantee that they’d remodel it being that DI specifically said not all HX amps will get redone. They want to add new things and should!

Your best bet is to wait until Proxy drops because Tone Junkie and Amalgam both have that amp and profile packs for it. Pretty sure it’ll be a big seller.

Either that or go Fractal. I just don’t believe in amp unobtanium anymore, and I believe workflow matters just as much as amp tones.

I'm pretty sure the model of that amp in the Axe III has loads of gain also.

You can turn the gain of the HX Derailed Ingrid down and get pretty much completely clean sounds. From all I've seen/heard in videos, the original does a somewhat better job in terms of dynamics, though. I prefer other models of the HX lineup in case great cleanup is important.

I actually want more genuine Line 6 amps. Anything they could think of, really. If the HX series was stripped down to just the ones available (possibly somewhat improved here and there), I'd be every bit as interested in the Stadium as ever before.

Instead of tons of new or agourafied amps, I'd really love to see more dirt pedals, especially of the weirder kind. Or of the killer kind.

And I'd defenitely love to have a Line-Six-ified version of the Top Secret OD, should offer more output volume (it's really low at moderate gain settings) and ideally a 3 band tone control (a pre-boost tight switch/control wouldn't harm in addition, either). Defnitely my most used dirt pedal out of the HX universe, but I pretty much always have to pair it with an additional post-EQ.

The combination of the Voltage and a Top Secret OD is my "first grab" for anything dirt. Not the tightest sound by any means, so possibly not suitable for metal, but there's some stoner goodness to be had, with a neck pickup it's coming along kinda fuzzy/wooly, the bridge pickup then gets things somewhat tighter very naturally and it cleans up as great as it gets IMO. Add a bit of compression from a Vetta Comp and there's a great lead tone. And it works like that with each and every of my guitars. Even deals with somewhat more complexed chords absolutely well.

More original models that take advantage of more accurate modelling techniques. Surely their benefit to begin with was they weren’t constrained by having to adhere to realistic circuits. If they were more appealing than the modelled amps, then why do they need to be Agoura-fied? Is there a particular itch that they don’t yet scratch or some kind of drawback to improve on?

I’m convinced many digital users don’t really know what they want and just want to be sold the latest marketing

I want amps with zero warts.

No idea whether they necessarily needed to be agourafied, but some of them could do with certain improvements (better tone controls, maybe the odd mode-switch and what not). And as the boost option is built into the newest (catalyst) additions anyway, I'd like this to have more control (bunch of different boosts and tone controls) as well and a switch to turn it on/off, rather than just a slider that goes "off" when dragged all the way down.
