Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Yeah we have a double whammy this year. Hosted Thanksgiving, hosting Christmas, taking on captives in both cases.

Christmas - the time of year we watch movies about orphans finding families while simultaneously wishing we were orphaned.
I saw a hilarious meme the other day that hit home for us - it said something like "they need to spread out thanksgiving and christmas by like 6 months... why we gotta see these people again that soon??"

LMAO.

My house is going to be a nightmare this Christmas. Got the father in law from Japan visiting, as well as the sister in law, brother in law, and their kid, as well as my parents from out of town, as well as my amp tech friend, his partner, and his sister and her partner! I'm gonna be cooking like a bastard!!

Thankfully, we're not hosting anyone for Christmas or traveling to anyone. After decades of double whammies, I try to keep our Chistmas week low-key and fuss-free now. I'll see my Dad, brother and other family memebers at Thanksgiving or throughout the rest of the year.

Be sure to ask the guests what they think about the new Stadium models, maybe treat them with some A/Bing 🎅

What the hell man. it shouldn't be this hard.

Won't download from the Device itself for some reason.

So i then go to the app, "check for updates" - and get this wonderful message where the "download" button is greyed out:

interesting that it says "wifi and ethernet updates are not currently supported". Is that for the APP or the DEVICE? lol. Because Wifi is how I originally updated the DEVICE.

Anyway - I've connected my Stadium DEVICE via USB-C to USB-C ... and ... USB-C (mac) to USB-A (device)... to no avail. Neither will reveal the download update button.

So much for "turn on device and update firmware over wifi with the tap of a button."Hey
Hey Fireproof! You will need to login on the device to get around the error code. As for the app, disconnect wi-fi and connect to the usb option in the connection page on the top left of the app. The download button is shaded because the connection is wi-fi. Hope this helps!

I say null tests, plus some all day Leo Gibson binge watching sessions. He will have the house to himself next year for sure!
I think Gibson's tests are cool but they tend to target specific kind of playing only (from what I've seen). And there's quite a bit you can't tell from NULL tests done this way.

His tests are complete garbage and the way he runs a null test you can’t tell anything useful. Not that it matters, make a bunch of non-guitarists sit through hours of his shit and they will never come to your house again. Either that or they will kill you.

If the most important knobs were on encoders, and the GEQ and switches were on the touch screen, you could probably get it all on one page and have a more 1 knob per function behaviour.
The way Stadium works, every parameter needs to be in the inspector so you can assign it to controllers or snapshots. Focus view isn't an alternative to the inspector, it's an enhancement to it.

You could also just leave the 2C+'s EQ flat and add an EQ > Cali Q Graphic block, which has graphic sliders in its Focus view.
Did I dream it or did Eric say that stem separation would take place fairly soon at a future update (I know it wasn’t due yet). If that’s definitely coming, can someone please recommend a (preferably free!) piece of software that does this to get me started until the Stadium / stadium app will do it for me? It’s something I’m really looking forward to and if my (very lovely) XL will do it soon anyway then I don’t want to be spending too many Timbucks on a solution that will be short term.
I use Logic. Moises is probably the best I've found. There are definitely quality differences between the various services, and I suspect people will still use whatever they prefer. We include Yamaha's Extrack for those who don't have access to other stem separation services; it's currently limited to 5 fixed stems: drums, bass, guitar, vocals, and other; other services can split rhythm guitar from lead guitar and lead vocals from background vocals.

Extrack stem separation requires an update to the Stadium app and web services. Hopefully sometime before NAMM, but no promise is implied. In the meantime, yeah, use whatever service you want.
I've noticed that when setting snapshots changes (Sadites used flags) the interface shows a generic snapshot # name instead of the actual sanpshot name. I think that sould be modified. @Digital Igloo
There are literally hundreds of things that drive me nuts on Stadium. We'll eventually get to them all. Welcome to #421.

I always turn off the noise gates when evaluating amp models. Nothing to do with what I'm hearing. I'm genuinely experiencing the inability to make the thing properly go KERRRRRAAAANNNGGGGG like a real amp does when you tits the shit out of the mids, treble, and presence controls.
Just did a comparison with my Jubilee, I am getting the same differences as with the 5153.

Lack of highs and honky mids on the Agora vs the real amp.

And I think some people prefer such high end cut. Personally, I would rather be in control of this though.
