The low and medium gain tones are top notch stuff.I always thought alot of the HX models lacked mids. They were also overly bright and harsh which is why so many people were using hi cuts by default on many models. Sounds like Agoura has addressed all of this. Keep in mind I'm a clean to mid gain player. The heaviest amp I use is the BE-100 (placater)
“Honk” is widely associated with Boogies and especially the Mark series. It’s a product of the tonestack and gain arrangement and why you can basically DELETE 750hz and still be heard in a live mix.I'm also loving the IIC+ higher gain settings, and don't hear "honk" or "flub" (Seriously, what is wrong with us guitarists and our vocabulary?) in the "Crush" settings in my preset.
In general audio folks communicate sounds with tons of these terms that we somehow work out between us (glassy, dark, bright, wooly, etc).
What do you think comparing to a YouTube clip is going to prove? There are people on these forums and even in this thread that own multiple Mark series amps. They know what they sound like.Maybe I'll pick a real IIC+ playthrough on YouTube and try to match it setting for setting to prove the point...
