I found most hype increases make the model seem muddier?Seems like just the sort of thing (among others) that the "Hype" control would dictate. It's almost as if Hype were starting at a non-zero minimum value.

The cumulative effect of the added midrange and attenuated top end is pretty significant compared to the real amp. It's interesting to me that the EQ shape is relatively the same, just increased/decreased - is that normal?
I'd actually love some sort of view like that where you could see all the parameters at once. Would be a good place to show a graphic EQ for the IIC as well.It definitely makes sense why they are the way they are, although push pulls and toggles on amps (and even deeper parameters like ripple and hum) aren’t things I would ever really find myself assigning for external control.
Some kind of customisable view where parameters can be hidden or moved to touch only would be quite cool. Although it’s also the kind of thing that can just make things more bloated and complex when trying to apply it to a system that’s so developed already.
I still think that at some point down the line there’s room to modernise that side of things but I absolutely concede that it’s not easy to do at all without sacrificing something else (that’s probably been in the software for ages and part of many peoples workflow).
I haven't even heard a Stadium yet. I'm just saying if the high frequency roll off is less accurate, but results in a subjectively cleaner/ warmer/ "better" tone, that's what I would understand the Hype knob to be for.I found most hype increases make the model seem muddier?
Yes, you can set when a loop starts and stops recording and playback overdub on cue - I assume clear the loop as well. Automate all your Russian Circles acoustic covers!I haven’t watched all the video, but am I correct in assuming that the Looper flags are for turning the looper on and engaging the loops?
My Jubilee is a Reissue. Not sure which they modeled. The cumulative effect of the added midrange and attenuated top end is pretty significant compared to the real amp.
@Deadpan sorry if you provided this info and I missed it. Can you elaborate on your setup here? Are we sure you’re using the same version of the amp and presenting it with a comparable cab load?
Are those comparable loads though? I’ve found my recto 2x12 to produce VERY different impedance responses compared to my 1960a. My sealed 1x12 is actually closer in response to my 4x12 than the 2x12 is.The load for the Jubilee is more comparable, as the stock cab is a Marshall 4x12 with V30 and I am using a Mesa 2x12 V30.
Without a doubt they will be different. Not this different. Are those comparable loads though? I’ve found my recto 2x12 to produce VERY different impedance responses compared to my 1960a. My sealed 1x12 is actually closer in response to my 4x12 than the 2x12 is.
In either event the datapoint is helpful, but that seems like an important variable.
Gotcha, thanks for the details. Sorry to make you repeat yourself.Without a doubt they will be different. Not this different.
I did mention this variable in my first post with the 5153.
One can switch the settings on the Fractal load wonder if there is really even a difference inside the unit. We know measurably there is but the difference in sound is small.
It’s definitely a difference but shouldn’t be THAT much. If anything the 4x12 load should make the amp sound a bit less midrangey than a 2x12 (depends on cab design a fair bit though). @2dor has done some power amp sweeps with different loads, and IIRC he had a Mesa 2x12 in amongst themAre those comparable loads though? Thanks for your reply Mooselake! It's just a bummer to have a $2000+ unit that you can't connect to. On the other hand, I was able to perform the 1.0 to 1.1 initial required update. Then, yesterday, I was also able to perform the 1.1 to 1.2 update! I just don't understand why such a sophisticated piece of tech can't perform a simple connection between the Stadium and the Editor. All that being said, I still think Line6 sgould consider doing a basic tether connection using USB just like the original Helix does, so you can use Editor features. Right now, I'm not able to install new presets or IRs. Please let me know if you have a lightbulb moment and figure out how we can do it. Also, my internet and WiFi signals are strong. Everything I have is sitting in a 5 ft proximity to PC, Modem, Router, Helix Stadium XL, etc. Good luck my brother, and Merry Christmas! Geetar63I initially had some issues with wifi, but mine started with not being able to download the update. I'm a retired engineer and we love to tell the story of all we did to troubleshoot and isolate issues, but I'll skip that part. What wound up mitigating the situation is I put a wifi extender in my music room and have my Stadium and the PC I run the Stadium App on connect to the extender for wifi. Even once I got through the update the Stadium app<->Stadium XL connection was at best erratic without the extender.
So in the sense my approach was opposite what Gary_W did above. But in my situation, with the extender, aside from the app and device losing connection once every 1-2 hours of connect time, I can connect to the editor pretty reliably. And those editor/device disconnects don't seem to affect Stadium's operation, just requires a manual mouse click on the host device to reconnect if desired.
It seems like most people have had little to no wifi connection issues, but you're definitely not alone nor likely to be doing something that would put you in total dummy territory. In my case less than optimal wifi signal strength in the room seemed to cause connection issues. And you do need to make sure both the computer and Stadium device are both connected to the same wifi source, can't have one connected to a router and the other connected to an extender, e.g.
I'm similar in that I was grounded in the OG Helix (LT in my case) ecosystem fro the last 8 years or so. And at this point I'm intending to hang on to it. But I'm really liking Stadium. Hopefully future updates will mitigate the wifi connection issues some of us are having.
Good luck!
