Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Hey Mikah! Seems like 2nd time had the charm! Thanks for the cool preset! Any idea what caused the amp to disappear? Were you mismatched with firmware and app builds?

I think that was it. Not sure why it recognized the amp for a sec and then disappeared shortly after, but I'll be cognizant of that.

Hope you enjoy it! More to come!

No new factory presets means I gotta make more of my own. This one is for @JiveTurkey and @GTR37 in particular.

Think this one might be my "modded Marshall" fave right now. This is a Silver Jubilee preset, and that amp is so fun and dynamic to play, even with the Lead channel cranked! Still tons of dynamics.

Anyway, this preset is called Sunset Strip for my "hair metal" fans. Four snapshots!
  1. Lighterup - Acoustic sim with 10-band EQ, multiband compression, plate reverb and chorus. Perfect for the intros to 80s standards
  2. Sleazy 80s - Lead channel in full roar going into the Brit V30 coupled with the Greenback 20 cab. Seriously, the picking dynamics here are crazy. You could play kinda "clean" verses with soft picking and full-on saturated Kerrang just by changing your attack.
  3. Solo time - Self-explanatory lead snapshot
  4. Balladry - The clean electric patch we need for verses and bridges.
See attached.

Don’t have the XL just waiting on stadium but will definitely add this to the downloads
So far clips of Jubilee i have heard have been promising
In the words of an Aussie Legend “ it’s doing the thing “

Some initial thoughts on the IIC+:

If Agoura needed an amp to
Showcase its clean -> medium breakup dynamics, this is it. Hands down my favorite clean channel in Stadium. Engage the bass shift to get a more traditional Fender bass slope, dial drive to taste, crank the master up a bit higher and it gets sweeter. This is also a great spot to try the class A power setting for a slightly different vibe. There’s a reason Prince toured with a pair of these.

The lead channel on the IIC+ kind of picks up where the Rhythm channel leaves off..L6 got all of the pull switch functionality right, all seems to respond like the real amp. I cannot over-stress how useful it is to have access to those alternate functions. Additionally the percussive high gain stuff feels GREAT under the fingers.

I am struggling at the heavier end of the spectrum just a bit. There’s a certain unpleasant honk that pushes forward in an unpleasant way when pushing the treble up over 8 with my Les Paul. We’re not talking about the normal boogie mark series honk. This is a bit higher than that. I’m going to try some YA IRs to see if I can investigate more.

I too have struggled with high gain in general in the Stadium.

Cleans and edge of break up...heck even 80s metal, fantastic both sonically and from a feel standpoint.

Anything for modern metal just falls apart for me. It doesn't have the cut it needs and just feels honky. Just my 2c 😀
