Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

My initial take on 5 mins of play time is that the Agoura IIC+ is darker/rounder than the Fractal IIC+.

I definitely prefer Agoura’s options, having all the pull functions, simulclass switch, clean channel, etc. jury is still out on which I prefer to actually play.
How about the Jubilee compared to Fractal (whenever you get a moment)?

Not all of 'em, but a few are definitely bots and/or trolls from at least one competing company. I get not doxxing anyone, but TOP is rough because the mods there will defend them from the slightest accusation of such. I'm still salty that Cliff was banned from that place.

Cliff got banned? I wouldn't know because I had them nuke my account :)

He CORRECTLY called out one or more anonymous posters as being employees at an MI company—wasn't even rude or anything.

I posted something like "your mask is slipping" to a troll's alt account (the guy who $#!‡s all over every Stadium thread and claims anyone pushing back on his nonsense is "stalking" him). The mods removed my post but not his.

1960A T75 default cab for the Cali 2C+ - Interesting choice, I was expecting the Cali V30

Hetfield used a Marshall cab with it, I’m not sure what speakers he used though. Given that the amp is known for a super pissed off tone, a t75 is a great place to start for that.

I owned an original 2C+ combo back in the day for about 3 years. As chance would have it, I also had a chance to play a reissue this past week at GC. Still cripplingly heavy like I remember - the main reason I sold my unit given my bad back. I was never into the Metallica thing...still loathe their music. I had it more for lead tones.

I think I prefer the Mark IV and Mark V TBH. There's a different midrange that I think I like better in the newer amps.

That said, having played the Fractal models of all 3 models ... I'm not sure that they're fully captured well in the Fractal.... especially the MarkIV and V. Mark 2C+ is better to me. Curious how Agoura compares.

Clips Pls!

Don't know if @Digital Igloo mentioned this here, but this comment from TOP surprised me:

"Correct; that's an update to the editor and web services, not the firmware. Hoping for it (and tempo detection and song section detection for auto-placing Marker flags) to be available by NAMM, but no promises are implied.

We're also hoping to have a preview of Proxy at the show and non-XL Stadiums will be available to play in the booth.

We also expect 1.2.X firmware to drop in the coming weeks to address additional bugs that didn't quite make the regression testing cutoff date."

Sounds like Proxy might be "showcased" during NAMM :getmycoat

Really appreciate the hot fixes to squash some more bugs!

boogie liquid gain was developed with the C90 black shadow, the graphic 5 band 750 slider let's you get away with the V30s, but the main boogie high gain speaker is C90 black shadow. T75s were 97% high gain sound for years and years, when the migration to greenbacks and V30s for heavy sounds started everybody had to unalive the mid knob.

at first palm mutes was all T75s and JCM800s, the lead guys just used V30s and greenbacks for the mids to be heard more

I'm absolutely loving the Jubilee, wonderful amp! With each update to the original helix I was hoping that it would get included - now it's everything I hoped it to be, thank you very much!

Two little questions @Digital Igloo , sorry to take your time here:

  • In the release notes you mention a "Bright"-Control to the Jujube, but I don't see it in my unit. Was it maybe scrapped in development?
  • I still have one other problem: If I press the toe switch in snap1, so that EXP1 gets activated and then go to snap2 and to snap 1 again, EXP1 is still activated, it doesn't return to EXP2 as it was saved in the snapshot (the blocks are rightfully recalled, so that my expression pedal does basically nothing now). I already looked around if I did something wrong. In the global settings under "EXP pedal position" you can only choose between "per preset" and "global" although I see the option "per snapshot" in the explanation above. Has this something to do with it?
Thank you!!

We said to ourselves, 'Let's make this one more concise'. And it was still an hour long, haha. But we opened with STAR WARS, so that's fun...

I'm not a high gain guy, but I really like the Mesa 2C+. My buddy Sean is my go-to for higher gain tones, and he really likes it, too. I've had some experience with a Silver Jubilee, and I really like that amp - I think they nailed it, and you can get a ton of tones out of it. And of course, the Super is awesome.

Showcase is a lot of fun - can't wait to get a bunch of tracks in Stadium to just play along with at any time.

How are y'all not getting more love around here for that intro?!?!?

I had to doublecheck to see if Sean Price was playing Galactic Empire, the SW-themed metal band.

That aside, the rest of the video ripped too. Good stuff! Does Sean do any of the dialing in for your presets?

First of all, I LOVE the new update! Especially the high gain amps are my jam :)

But, isn't it funny how there are always a handful of guys in my comment section who "think it sounds absolutely horrible!"? Where's the nuance? Why not just say "sounds ok but I prefer my (insert brand name) modeler". Why do they feel they need to be so dramatic?

Rant over! Enjoy the new IIC+, it's epic!

Second comment on your video was some asshole shitting all over line6

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Loosers gonna loose

  • Drat. Must've been a copypasta error on my part. Updated
  • Definitely a bug. Igor and I have been talking about it this very week

For those who like to try the Jubilee and don't know the real amp, assuming the model is close to the original, keep the lead master maxed to get the best out of the lead channel.

Longtime lurker but wanted to chime in to say how AMAZING the Jubilee sounds. I'm absolutely in love with the tone I'm getting out of all three channels/modes. The new Mesa and Fender amps also sounds fantastic but being a Marshall guy at heart, I can't get enough of the Jubilee. I've owned a reissue model in the past and it completely satisfies the itch.

I've also had an Axe FX III and FM3 a few years/months ago and currently have a Quad Cortex as well. I have to say, there's something about the feel on the Stadium that just makes it super fun to play. The Fractal gear is also top notch of course and I haven't gotten a chance to compare it directly to the Stadium but I unfortunately found myself messing with the different settings/parameters/amp models way too much. Completely my problem of course (can't help but tinker and end up not playing anywhere near as much as I should) but I love the streamlined approach Line 6 took. This thing just sounds and FEELS fantastic. The Quad Cortex is also great but to me the Stadium still feels better. It might be the honeymoon phase, might just be in my head, but it feels so good under the fingers. Super happy with the purchase.
