I think this why Fender and Laney did such a good job with their first offerings in this realm.

Fender still had some teething pains with the original preamps, which they quietly upgraded eventually. But other than that, absolutely as far as their customer service histories.

I think the smart move is to wait for the soon-to-happen megathread at TOP, then stay on top of it for at least a few months to see how the new cabs actually perform, and how IK deals with any problems. I can almost see a “return defective units to your retailer for replacement” type of thing happening.

The Fender FR series being noisy just to save a few bucks on production costs is not what I'd call a good job. Fixing them somewhat silently without afaik even changing the SKU, model number etc is another crappy move.

I think the Fender suits have gagged their reps on more than one occasion concerning the TMP and FR cabs. Fender needs to understand that there is considerably more openness and transparency from their competitors, and people have come to appreciate (and to a certain extent expect) that level of communication.

My PowerCabs have an amp and speakers they are pretty neutral, for my use and purposes this is all i require, since I'm just a bedroom hobbyist and I don't Gig, but i can see for others why the Fender or this new Cab might be appealing

The Amp where I'm at obsession is primarily (but not exclusively) coming from people who are accustomed to traditional rigs and are thrown a bit by the difference in sound with modern "FRFR" monitoring.

Actually the DSL is a pretty easy Marshall to dial in. Start on 10 with everything and dial back from there.

Cordy already has a TONEX CAB and has used it live:

He’s such a good player but gear review wise he doesn’t do anything with his videos to let me see if it may be working for me or not. His experience is just too limited for that stuff. IMHO I wish he’d stick to more teaching about playing but I understand he can’t get the amount clicks he covets doing that.

On the OT…. this looks interesting but I’m skeptical. At that point if you use this and want amp in the room it claims it gives you then just use a real amp.

It’d be nice to know whether or not the signal is running through DSP if the IR functionality isn’t being used. If it’s all analog without IR, then I’m open minded.

Judging by Henning’s video, due to the way the EQ works, and is programmable, it doesn’t seem like you can bypass the DSP, even without using the IR functionality. Weak sauce.
