IK Multimedia TONEX

Training times have massively improved on my system (3900x with 3090 GPU). They've gone from ~40 mins to around ~30-35 mins and now approx 10-15 when all is said and done. I've always done "Advanced" training which is now "Extended". The new Modeller app is such an improvement for a bunch of reasons, credit where credit is due. ToneX captures are no longer a painful process, well done.

What do you think about the results?

Seems I’ve totally missed the Extended thing. Where do you choose that? I’ve looked around and thought they ditched the different training levels or something.

Thanks dean and Nathan! I think my power amp capture is OK on Optimized but the high gain caps I’m planning will def be on Extended.

I’ve got 14 years in UI/UX but IK makes sure to surprise me. I don’t know if I should be impressed or pissed that I missed that hamburger!

I tried to do a local search of all of my own 'scoob701' and couldn't find any. Then I tried a search for 'scoob701' on tonenet and nothing. This one is a mess.

So, scoob701 is you? If so, apart from me being able to find all your captures easily in the Tonex plugin, I'd really like to thank you as there's some pretty exellent captures among them! I might use one as the base dirt tone on Friday's gig.

The only thing I wished was that you tagged them as amp+cab captures so the Tonex software could do its magic and remove the cab portion (which, at least on some captures, works quite well), hence allowing me to use my own IRs.
But then, maybe it's just not needed as some of them are just excellent on their own. Plus, they seem to be considerably less noisy than other captures of comparable gain structures.
Thanks again!

Hi All,

Been doing DI captures with the new V2 process. It feels like an improvement.

Set the Armored Sabot V3 up today and dialed it in.

I know it is inconvenient to download it from Dropbox, but I am not able to share it publicly yet on Tone.net so I appreciate the extra effort.

This amp had a rocky reception and I understand why. This V3 version of the Sabot added an extra internal gain stage that brought the input impedance up to the needed 1meg ohm.

Given this I thought many of you may be interested in trying it. This is straight in, no pedals.

Warning, this is high gain and chugs. Bring your own IR.

Let me know what you think.

Tried that profile out last night and thought it was great! I'll use that somewhere in our band sets once I spend some more time with it to dial it in on my rig. This is a great alternative for high gain Dual Rec/Triple Rec song tones and I am already using one of your V2 Triple Rec profiles you updated a few weeks ago.

BTW, I'm on +2 for my input trim. I find that works best on both my LP's and my Tele, good middle ground. I'm also able to control the input of the guitar signal somewhat with the master volume knob on my Stomp XL and that seems to fine tune it depending on if I'm playing at home or at band practice setups.

Thanks again for the profile!

Ok, I've asked this before, but here we go again (in case it just got lost): Is there any way to control multiple Tonex Ones from one central "MIDI-to-Tonex-lingo" device? The ones made by Pirate MIDI and Airstep all seem to be made to only work with one single device, and I don't feel like adding one device per each TO to my setup.

And before someone asks: No, getting a big Tonex instead doesn't really help as my main floorboard setup is based around the idea of having multiple (so far 2) physically separated devices available. Also, the fact that the TO is always in auto-save mode, is quite what my doctor ordered.

What I want would be: Use the A/B switching of the TOs to preselect patches per "channel" (the two TOs in the loops of the GT-1000 - at least as soon as the second one arrives, possibly on thursday).
I can of course do that right now already, really don't need access to any of the TOs FX, either, so gain, volume and tone stack control is absolutely fine, but due to the nature of the standard pots, I keep running into parameter jumps, can't keep track of what was set how and what not. Even the smallest Pirate MIDI box would adress that just nicely, as the corresponding app shows the updated parameter values per channels A/B all the time.
But cramming more than one of those boxes onto my board would be nothing I wanted, let alone I'd possibly have to disconnect and reconnect to either box all the time.

If there was a single MIDI-in box being able to control two TOs, I could defenitely envision purchasing one of those 16 knob MIDI controller boxes (which are quite affordable by now) and set it up so I could control volume and the tonestack of the 4 available TO channels at any time. That'd actually be pretty much a dream come true for the way I like to deal with things live.
