IK Multimedia TONEX

I have to give IK credit, though I’ve yet to play through the thing, the Tonex One is a VERY robust feeling piece of hardware. These LEDs are also damn near blinding. Can’t imagine losing sight of these on stage.

Bought the Tonex for the group buy and I'm impressed. To me it's the most in the room sound and feel I've found. I'm loving it, even to the point I think I'm going to sell my FM9. Not because the FM9 isn't good but it's way more than I need. I prefer an amp + pedal setup and the Tonex fits that perfectly.

Sure, the software could be improved but I intend to find a few core amps and call it a day. I don't think I'll be in the software often. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Agreed. IK does have their quirks but I think they're software gets it done. They have some standout software. The new Brown Sounds, Mesa, Satriani packs are very good. Lifeson has some good amps as does ENGL. For everything else, find a decent DI, pair it with a Solodallas IR and call it a day. I mostly prefer Solodallas as they have more of a room feel with their U47/67/87 mics. I might cash out my AX3 for a VP4.

Hi All,

Been doing DI captures with the new V2 process. It feels like an improvement.

Set the Armored Sabot V3 up today and dialed it in.

I know it is inconvenient to download it from Dropbox, but I am not able to share it publicly yet on Tone.net so I appreciate the extra effort.

This amp had a rocky reception and I understand why. This V3 version of the Sabot added an extra internal gain stage that brought the input impedance up to the needed 1meg ohm.

Given this I thought many of you may be interested in trying it. This is straight in, no pedals.

Warning, this is high gain and chugs. Bring your own IR.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you!! I'll DL this at lunch and give it a test drive!

Tried it out. Defenitely not the sounds I'm after, but it seems to chug - just that this is really very, very noisy. Checked with both the plugin and the TO.
To note, this is created for 12dbu of input put gain. The pedals i believe have around 8.5dbu so you need to lower the gain in the capture or set the input trim to -3.5 to get the intended level. This of course may need adjustment depending on your instrument.
