Not sure about this really. The amount of hoops you have to jump through just to separate the left and right of an input and output .... kinda wild tbh. Like if you want to just simply have two mono parallel paths using IN 1 Left > OUT 1 Left and IN 1 Right > OUT 1 Right .... you have to be a dolphin to get it done.
Ok that's not wrong but it's a single example of something that's relatively difficult. But there are plenty of examples of things that they can do that are amazingly cool, some of which aren't even possible on other modelers.

Just downloaded the IRs and tried to reproduce things with the HX Stomp and it's impossible. The Auto Swell is surprisingly bad (the GT-1000 is doing much better) and the pitch shifter is unbearable compared to the one in the TMP.

Nice to see they’ve been steadily updating it. Fenders commitment to the digital space is cool and going to position them well moving into the laptop era.

I still have my FM9 and still love it. Just wanted a more capable backup, and it's going well thus far.
 
I may be one of the few here who currently own a Kemper Power Rack, an FM9T, AND a Fender TMP (not to mention way too many actual stompbox pedals and tube amps). Only to mean, I speak from experience of currently owning the actual equipment, here and now.

Suffice to say, the TMP holds its own...easily, at least where it comes to the bread n' butter core amp tones/dynamics as well as effects. In other words, it probably should satisfy 90% of the working guitarists out there.

With that said, there is no question that Fractal and Kemper have a significant advantage in terms of breath of effects available, as well as the fine-grain, sometimes esoteric, deep editing and customization of amp and effects parameters. If you want the depth of programming and tweakability of a Lexicon PCM-80, then get a Fractal.

If, however, you want the familiar ease, almost zero learning curve, and insanely brilliant and intuitive customization possibilities -- AS IF ONE WERE USING an actual physical stompbox pedalboard and tube amp setup -- then one would be well served by the Fender TMP. In fact, in the latter case, there is CURRENTLY NO BETTER solution, than the Fender TMP, IMHO.

Not sure why it isn't getting more love by TMP owner's...but I have a feeling that most are interested in the Fender amps.
 
I gotta say I appreciate the rolling reviews and findings because I feel like thats how a person actually uses gear over time.
I've had those double / triple / quad backflips of opinions on plugins/amps and digital units as well. Heck when I first plugged in my mesa triple recto my face was like "errrr, wat".

When you said there was no "modern drives" I had a look and you're right, pretty surprised there's not at least a TC Preamp or something. I guess I always stick to the 808 or SD1 on the TMP but more options would massively be welcomed. I also agree on the cabs, the stuff they have in there works but I do find chucking your own 3rd party IRs on there really helps.

I just did a video for the TMP Friedman model and sometimes I was using it I was also like, this sounds kinda weird but other times it sounded great. I'll give your settings a go and see how it rolls. Great stuff man!
