Helix Talk

@Digital Igloo if the nonlinear reverb is the thing you've been using on your mixes a lot lately, we have a reverb coming up you may like! I was always bummed about the desert of gated reverbs in plugin land, though there are some cool ones

Annnd the 3.7 thread over at That Shit-hole has been deleted. I’m going to say that the document was legit.
I don't even understand why the secrecy. Those that own Helix know what it is, we don't need more convincing. We know that the update will bring additional value to the unit even if what's new isn't something we'd use (I still haven't updated to 3.6 - the old man's update).
And those that don't own it don't hold their breath waiting for the next update.
They'd probably get more hype about it if they had regular "influencer videos" (hate myself for writing it) in "here's what we're working on RIGHT NOW and what awaits you in THE NEXT UPDATE" format.

It would be cool if that’s really the contents of the next update. I’ve flirted with a Catalyst but I don’t do combos. Having those sounds in my Rack (giggity) and Stomp would be dope.

ODR-1 is cool too.

Yeah I've been interested to try the Catalyst but haven't stumbled into a store with one on display and ready to play. Not that I have been to many guitar stores lately anyway...

Catalyst amps is a kind of cool way to demo what's available. I'm guessing they were designed to cover a whole range of amps so you aren't flipping through 100 models, which is sort of the opposite of what the helix is about. More is more though, nothing lost and im sure people will enjoy it. I also wonder what they're like with IR's and a dedicated cab rather than whatever they come with and were designed around.

Hoping the addition of another Invective channel means the crunch one was fixed, otherwise itll be a bit frustrating. Fingers crossed there.

Suppose the hype will intensify for a few weeks now, and that will turn to rage when the update is changed and we get something totally different. Looks as though its a nice mix of things users have been asking for for a long time, as well as continuing the trend of adding valuable bass amps + cabs where Helix is really distinguishing itself.

Would LOVE presets per block, for instance, having some presets from the more complicated delay's and reverbs or even different amp sounds would be much nicer than copy and pasting things in from other presets or using favourites. Even some of the pedals have more controls than most amps do and it would be cool to choose from my own go to sounds from them.

Imagine swapping between block presets per snapshot. Way better than the Favorites thing...

This showed up at the other place… from the Facebook group…

I think team Helix has a good thing going where they can’t be blamed for empty promises or being pressured to put something out that is buggy or grossly incomplete. Also, I really like the fun of the buildup and surprise. If this is the update, I’m excited for it, because there is a lot there I personally want. However, it would have been more fun for me to see it all on release day. Now I just feel bad for Team Helix having their party spoiled and needing to deal with unnecessary drama.

I haven’t bought it yet, but I will. I’ve spent a lot of time with the Catalyst in stores (apologies to the employees), and I think the amp models are great. They seem to be tweaked versions of what we already have in the Helix, but really easy to dial in inspiring tones. So if the amps are relatively low on DSP, I can very much see them being my go-to for when I need to put together a patch quickly.

I like the Nobels , and feed backer

The Catalyst to me never sounded that great , just being Honest , would have rather had Something Like a Bogner XTC, Green /rd/blue
w excursion . 3 way brights.

Well I posted the info on update because I figured the cat was already out of the bag. I can delete it if y’all want me to.
