Helix Talk

Does the Helix LT use the same screen as the full Helix Floor?
I had both (for a very short time) and I don't remember anything different about their displays from the hardware point of view.
Obviously they show slightly different views in some cases, and from this point of view, the Floor version offers a good advantage and quick(er) tweaking without the necessity to change the views.

Line6 really did make a series of goldilocks products here. There is very little to dislike about Helix Floor, Helix Rack, HX Stomp, and HX Effects.
The HXFX has been rocky for me. Enough so that had I not continued to have such a fantastic experience with the Helix Floor, I would have already jumped ship over to Fractal. I do not recommend the HXFX, especially in high gain scenarios or folks who would use dirt pedals in the loops.

Mine has had noise issues from the start (some early units were apparently plagued with this, I bought at launch). L6 has tried to service it, which I appreciate, but it’s still extremely problematic with any gain pedals in the loop. Major buyers regret there.

Is it just me or does the Fullerton rock harder than the high-gain amps? Turn the gains up and this thing roars! Right now I'm using Fullerton Nrm with the bright gain on full, this softens the normal gain allowing you to turn it up further for a fuller sound with tonnes of midrange and break-up. The Fullerton 112 cab works surprisingly well for high-gain too.
I just checked it out. Sounds great. May be my go to for a while.

Sweetfoot power supply arrived today with enough outputs for the Stomp, DMC.micro, G10, and my little IEM mixer

I had been using a Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-10AC Pro which was a little overkill (but had USB output, so nice for the G10). Before that it was Boxking BK-05 and a Tylt charger doing the work.

Sweet mog that’s a sweet stomp board.

Got me all teared up in the eyes… here’s my stomp darlings from my “career”.

Wouldn't a stomp xl be like that but a bit better?
Probably, the idea of a fourth Snapshot doesn't hurt! I put this rig together soon after the Stomp was released and I didn't mind not having an XL when they came out. I might pick one up if my Stomp breaks. It's old, been riden hard, wonky encoders, already has been in for repairs and needs more maintenence than I can handle).

I also really enjoy the form factor of the Stomp over the XL because I can do stupid things like this:

How is the G10? I’ve been pretty sensitive to top end loss with some other wireless units I’ve tried but kinda trust L6 to get it right.
The sound quality is pretty good, a tiny bit sensitive to interference depending on Wi-Fi traffic but I've been using it and taking it to gigs since 2016 and it has been very reliable to the extent of it working while walking around entire venues and crowded dance floors. The USB power jack is a little sensitive, I use a magnetic cable so I don't break it.

I'm on my second transmitter, the first one doesn't hold a charge for more than 2 hours (it's the backup now) and the second one lasts maybe 3 to 4 hours. I haven't timed it but have jam sessions that go for that long.

I got a set of the Nu-X B5RC recently which are comparable so far and will probably be next in line.

How long did it take you to build an amp emulation? Weeks, months?
Are high gain amps harder to build than clean ones or are they both equally complicated?
Thanks

I just noticed, the only piece of gear I own that can do it all with no compromise and I can grab-and-go without breaking my back or damaging anything while in a hurry it is the HX Stomp XL.
Amps and cabs weigh a ton, the AxeFx rack (with a poweramp) is huge and weighs a ton too, my not-so-small pedalboard requires an amp or a modeler.
That is, the only practical piece of gear I own is my HX Stomp XL, funny how that worked out.
I agree. I wouldn't sell my Stomp for anything.

Thanks, I'll definitely give it another run!
Yeah someone mentioned it a page back as good for high gain, I can’t speak to that because I don’t really do high gain unless it’s fuzz, but this sounds awesome. I think I like it better than the grammatico lg, but both are good.
