Helix Talk

The bandit is the Peavey Bandit 112? Because I had one back in the day and it sounded like @#€&€ 😅

Does Native have an FX loop/insert block, so another VST effect can be routed into the middle of a signal chain, for example?

(Random thought, and currently walking, so doing in-depth research is tricky.)

No, but your computer should be able to easily run one instance for pre-VST blocks and another for post-VST blocks. I have tracks with dozens of instances of Helix Native.

Yup, I'm doing it this way as well, just had the thought about a dedicated block before, but it's probably a PITA to pull off...

Wouldn't you have to have VST loading within a VST? I think a couple plugins have done that before, but no idea how well it worked. Revalver, maybe?

Most DAWs really couldn't handle the sort of routing that would have let you do this, but it is possible for the plugin to do it internally, but again, most DAWs epic failed at that when presented with plugins that could. One DAW was created specifically to allow for this sort of thing, but its a lot to ask plugin developers to spend the time to chance it.

I was blown away when we made a plugin version of Glenn Fricker's Cock Blocker that only reaper allowed the basic type of routing that allowed you to use it properly.

Its 2024 man, get your basic routing shit straight people!

These can all load VSTs inside it and route them around. Now look at their support forums when dealing with exactly these plugins in Pro Tools, Studio One, Cubendo or Cakewalk, and imagine how much longer we'd be waiting for 3.8, hell 2.5 if Line 6 had decided to try and provide tech support for this feature

Nice to have, not really necessary in the current market, risky investment I'd say.
That’s a good assessment I think all the major players are just trying to stay in the under $1000
Neural Nano
ToneX
Kemper
Line6
They all seem to be looking at the more compact mid price tier and not pushing out new flagships
