Have You Bought Any Pedals Lately In 2025?

Too many to mention I’m afraid. Plenty went back but I found some ones I really really liked in the process. Some were old friends.

Diamond is back baby! Great Comp/EQ and Booster/EQ

Me too with the diamond comp, I had it stored away for a while and its now back on my board.. Does a lot and does a little so well !
CAE Booster/Line Driver
Vox Valvenergy Comp. Tubes and comp were made for each other IMO
Some reverb and delay pedals not on the TGF approved list

Rebought an Iridium, Riverside and Sunset.

Ive ordered a Supersonic Drive Black Limited Edition as a Christmas present for a family member.

See the DemonFX shit out and out rips off the full design of the enclosure too. That bugs the hell out of me. I'm all for affordable pedals and yes circuits get copied all the time. But at least try to make it look somewhat different. Like my Mooer E-Lady is an electric mistress clone but at least it doesn't look like an electric mistress. Or my old Caline Pegasus is clearly a Klone but they at least chose a different mythological creature. That pedal was crap though. Got a TC Zeus when they first came out and that solved my needs for a Klone. Under $100 and still sounds good.

Haven’t bought anything for a long time but decided to spontaneous buy a Friedman IR-D. All the demos sound good and I have grown a bitter hate towards my Walrus ACS1…. Although it sounds good enough… I have unleashed my grumpy old fart bitterness towards it… and if it’s one thing we do know. Once old fart grumpiness has entered an equation, it doesn’t go away.

A new limited edition black Supersonic arrived yesterday 👍
This was mine being tested,It’s the first of the black ones to go out .Serial #101.

And a week later I have now ordered the Tone King Imperial Preamp pedal. That will ship out tomorrow and will be coming with 2 day shipping so I should have it in about 3 days. Everything I have ordered since the beginning of November has taken a much longer time to get to me for some reason. I used to get stuff from the West coast in 3 days. Now it takes between 7 and 9 days to get stuff from there. It looks like everything just sets in a building there for three days or so before it starts moving. I have had this with FedEx and USPS. I am currently experiencing it with UPS so that is all three of the bigger shippers that people use. Something has definitely chagned.

I also realized that some of these pedals that I am planning on putting on my board draw more power than what my Pedal Power 2 Plus can provide. It only has 2, 500 ma 9v ports. I need 3. So, I ordered a Pedal Power 3 Plus to replace it on one of my boards. I will decide which board I am going to build out once that gets here. I have 2 boards to choose from. The new power supply has more ports than my old one. I just don't know how much I may need to modify the board to mount it yet.

Wasn't planning on any more purchases this year, but stumbled on a Tone City Lil Heat for £14 as new.

So why not....always found Tone City to be reassuringly solid.

So I’ve never owned an effects pedal, but have started playing a venue with my Taylor acoustic. I need a little punch when I play the lead runs for No Time, Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, Aime, and Ventura Highway. Being totally ignorant of what effect that’s best to apply when I play the lead runs, I always get confused at the endless choices. Is there one that I should consider to start making the lead runs stand out?

I needed a second Harmonizer and didn't want to drop a lot of cash. I picked up this hamonizer for $30 used, and it punches way above it's weight. It is very clear and doesn't give artifacts until the pitch is dramatically raised or lowered, which is expected.

Maybe the TC Electronic Spark Booster?

I’d go for a compressor, acoustics sound great with some compression to begin with but they’ll help a lead pop right out of the mix while giving you some sustain to work with.
