Fractal Talk

I just realized you weren't talking about the most recent X-3 update. If you like where it's at now, I maybe wouldn't update when the new firmware comes to the 9
You think the X-3 addition will take this backwards in some way when it gets to the FM9?

I wouldn't say backwards but it will be different
I am hoping it will retain the feel that I have now. I can't see that going backwards since they have it working well now. Time will tell. I will definitely do a backup before installing it. I am guessing it will be a while before we see it on the FM9 since it is just going into the Axe3 now.

If the comment at TOP Cliff made is still valid FM9 could be in CX3 public beta by end of tomorrow

I feel the anticipation rising in me. Mmmmm...... dopamine. :guiness

IT. IS. GEWD.

I'm sure it will be fine! But it does change things. For better or worse is up to the user. Good idea to make a backup!

I have not seen that many issues actually, the biggest ones are too much bass or models not volume matched when pulling them up

No, I wouldn't call any change an issue. I'm just saying that it will change the core tone, Cliff even bolds this at the start of the beta announcement.

god I hope there's not too much bass. There already seems to be in a lot of cases.
If there was any more bass on any models you could just turn it down
Basically I hear less low mids
A bit more attack in the lows
A bit more upper mid grind
A bit softer or smoother treble
A bit less gain or a least less perceived gain as it a bit cleaner with more articulation
String separation whatever you want to call it

Already backed up my FM9 so I'm ready.....

That said, FW 6.0 is incredible and has me playing guitar more than I really want to!
I have only had 3 of the 6 firmware versions on my FM9 so when I did do the updates they seemed a lot bigger to me.

I did see someone mention that, but I'm not finding that to be the case for me. There seems to be less low mids and everything that I've tried is tighter. I'm having to raise the level a bit on some things, which I think is because of less low end. I believe Chris mentioned something like that on his livestream when he was comparing Plexis. It might depend on the type of amp though. I'm not really a high gain player, so I haven't really tested those.

This 100%.

why do USA Lead and Pre models pass signal with BMT at zero?? there is something very wrong with the model topology for those models to pass any signal with BMT at zero. mark and triaxis pre-gain tone stacks cut signal to zero when they are off

have you ever considered teaching and amp building class like Bruce Egnater
