Is that Captain Anderton??I like having good ones
Obviously you don’t think so, since you’ve got a Helix now, correct? Do you own a Fractal product, or do you just like bitching about people at a company being sick?
Have a good one,

That's a great tip!!Also, when everything suddenly sounds terrible, I know not to touch anything unless I feel the same the next day.
The amount of times I've tweaked something in frustration, only to come back the next day to find my presets ruinedThat's a great tip!!
Cool!!! The FM3 is a good one.
From my understanding, if you don't do an amp reset, you would still essentially be playing on 24.05? Or am I mistaken?I’ve got a 6505+ through Greenbacks on one side and the Revv Purple through V30s on the other. I built this preset on 24.05 and it still sounds fine on 25b. I’ve not touched anything—no amp reset, no nothing.
I think that’s the case. I just like the tone enough to not muck with it, and I didn’t do any recordings before updating to verify whether or not they’re identical without a reset. I guess I was just saying that 25b didn’t break a good thing lolFrom my understanding, if you don't do an amp reset, you would still essentially be playing on 24.05? Or am I mistaken?
What did it add that you didn't like before?I can honestly say that the most recent firmware for the FM9 has really removed all of the things I was not liking about the unit. I skipped a few of the updates so I am not exactly sure when all of the things were fixed and I don't care to go look. I am a lot happier with the unit now.
The only regret I have now is that if I knew what I know now, I would have waited until now to buy it instead of getting in the first group to get them. Being first has it's advantages and drawbacks. I haven't really used the FM9 because of the things I didn't like. Now that those things have been fixed I wish I was on the new hardware. I am not going to sell this unit for a loss to spend more on the next one to get the new hardware. This unit is working just fine. It would be nice to have the little bit more processing power.
The two biggest improvements that made a difference for me is the gapless switching and the models are more touch sensitive now. To me the models were way too compressed and had too much gain in them, even when you turned them down. That has been resolved. I have been pretty impressed with how they feel and react to a volume knob change now. What did it add that you didn't like before?
That's awesome! I find it entertaining how people perceive updates. Someone will comment how there is more gain, another says less. Also interesting to see how we perceive things! That has been resolved. I have been pretty impressed with how they feel and react to a volume knob change now.
I have mentioned this in other thread on various forums. I was comparing the Dirty Shirley models to my real Twin Sister amp. They should be the same sound. I have the amp here and am running the FM9 through a powered cabinet in the same room. I tried hard to dial them in to sound the same at the same volume. I put a lot of time into it when I first got the FM9 on firmware V1. They were really different and the real amp was much more responsive to volume knob changes. The FM9 had a lot more gain and compression than the real amp. Fast forward to firmware V6. They sound much closer and the reaction to volume knob changes is pretty close to the amp. I am using the same setup I was using on firmware V1. Something changed and the FM9 became a real contender. I am a pretty objective person. I voiced my complaints about how it used to be and now I am voicing my pleasure for how it is now. That's awesome! I find it entertaining how people perceive updates. I just realized you weren't talking about the most recent X-3 update. If you like where it's at now, I maybe wouldn't update when the new firmware comes to the 9I have mentioned this in other thread on various forums.
