Fractal Talk

Maybe Dave has golden ears but 3 years ago I couldn’t hear the difference between my BE 100 and the FAS model. My wife couldn’t either. He is in the business of selling amps. Consider his motives.
Some say the new Cyngus "ruined" the Friedman amps in the fractal. Do you have any opinion?

tbf, I can’t imagine Dave being a computer editor guy, and can you imagine him dialling an Axe FX tone on the unit? Maybe the other units are a bit more immediate/intuitive to someone who doesn’t use anything like that.

Fractal, Helix and QC all have killer Friedman emulations. No one has anything to prove there

Hahaha while I can’t see him using the editor, there’s probably few guys on the planet who have programmed as many 80’s and 90’s rack units as Dave has, I’d have to imagine it wouldn’t be the same situation as the average “I‘m an amp guy” dialing one in.

Crucify? WTF?! :facepalm

The Bogner XTC is great in the AXE , although I would love the 101B version ..

I know there are schematics floating around I wonder how different they are from the 20th we have

That’s another amp I completely forget about but was always stoked to try before I got the AxeFX. There’s a ton of things I thought I would do with it, or amps I’d use, especially dual amp setups, that I never even bothered with because I ended up getting more of what I wanted using less of other things somewhere along the way. Or I’d just get hung up on certain amps and forget the rest exist.

Been lusting after Knaggs for a long time. This IS NOT helping matters. :love

I had a chance to play one last week unexpectedly. I think an Influence model? Didn't have a lot of time with it but I did like it. Neck was average thickness, not fat or skinny. The frets were a little shorter and flatter than I like but it was a well put together guitar. (y)

If anyone gets a chance on v23, can you please report the cpu hit when engaging gapless switching? thanks. curious minds in case they are able to port over to the FM9

How does one engage the switching? I thought they just improved it?

Maybe I'm missing something

its like 1.5 or 2% , so Fm series maybe a bit higher but when you think of what it does it is actually saving your cpu in the end
now you can have presets for clean, crunch , higan , lead and each on is like 75% CPU you just switch presets and not worry about having to fit everything in one
