Why would anyone want to go back to the AX8?

just the form factor. those led encoders are 75% of the UI for an amp sim, like Q-links on MPC, or knobs on the Pod Bean. instant access, instant visual feedback and you don't need tweezers to use them. 2 rows of 5 of those, above and below the screen, where knob assignment parameters contextually change on the screen, it would be great

The FM3 wouldn't be for me. I'm big into the ambient / post-rock / P&W scene, and my main Helix preset has 2 amps, 2 reverbs and 3 delays, plus chorus, tremolo, boost etc. I need a comprehensive unit!

(I much prefer Helix delays, anyway.).

The Helix delays might be the strongest suite in the unit, the delays and the drives. All the effects are great, I use the full floor as a multi-effects for my Supro when I can turn up the volume, it’s a glorious combination.

For sure. I'm now using the Floor as a total pedalboard replacement in 4cm, super happy with it.
