So just spray paint the grill ? Anything to watch out for ?Thanks! Credit goes to WKSmith for that idea. That duplicolor flat black vinyl and fabric spray paint works really well and is incredibly easy to use.
Okay which one of you bought the Open box Fr-12 from Sweetwater today![]()
The deed is done Mike
That's it. Super simple. Just follow the directions on the can regarding temperature. So just spray paint the grill ? Anything to watch out for ?
Dude, that's how you release the full 1000 watts. The fumes.Just remember to pull the grill off![]()
Was it a warranty repair?I just got my fr12 back from repair. It got it's entire preamp section replaced, though I think that's the only option when something goes wrong. Mine was one of the 'noisy' ones though to be honest, it wasn't really noticeable. I know this is crazy, but I think it sounds better with the new preamp.
yes it was.Was it a warranty repair?
I read in Reddit and some forums about many "new" units (even with different serial number than first version) that would still have the hiss. The only way to know was testing them.I must be confused, they started selling the Non-hiss versions last year. I bought mine when I got my Helix back in Nov 24. This was from Sweetwater, I assume direct from Fender would be the same unless they are just trying to offload the old stock haha. Wonder ""FRFR"" btw!
And when you call one in to Fender now, rather than ask for a serial #, they ask for you to send in a cell phone video recording. Then they somehow - without any knowledge of the mic or the recording level or anything - decide whether the hiss on the recording is loud enough to constitute a problem.I read in Reddit and some forums about many "new" units (even with different serial number than first version) that would still have the hiss. That’s nuts. And when you call one in to Fender now, rather than as for a serial #, they ask for you to send in a cell phone video recording.
