Fender Tone Master FR-10 and FR-12 FRFR cabs

Highs and lows are more pronounced at higher volumes. That’s why people usually suggest building presets at performance volume. But, that’s also what the cut switch is for, tailoring your output for the room without messing with your direct tone. I have no idea what the actual output power is, but the FR12 is fine for a loud drummer in my case.

I tried it in my cover band, I found that I had to have the output of my Lion pedal full up, and had the FR12 on at 2 oclock, had to have the cut quite high, it got brighter the louder I turned it, and it also didnt have the headroom of my Fender Tonemaster Twin amp on its 40w setting on 4.

Try dialing in the Lion with the EQ flat and the volume at noon. The more frequencies you push into the amp that you cut later the less headroom you’re going to have. You’re also comparing a 2x12 open back cab with guitar speakers to closed-back full range system. I don’t believe those “watt” settings are deterministic of your actual output, just what would be comparable to the tube version at the same “watts”.

It's much louder when using the balanced (XLR) input. Using the unbalanced TS input is quieter.

Yes I am aware, I have tried both with a line isolator and havent noticed any difference with a short distance to the FR12

interesting. I wasn't aware of this. Does using unbalance TS reduce static hiss as well (at the same volume)?

Neither of mine have different levels with TRS vs XLR. They DO like a hot (+4dB) line signal, though.
