Dafuq??? Bought a weird amp…

Waiting to hear back if he can do a 4 button foot switch that allows each channel to be switchable. It currently comes with a 2 button foot switch, 1 button changes between Normal and Lead, the 2nd changes between V3/V4 when Lead is selected.
Ah that would be nice! I

Put a deposit down on the SLO clone, Orion. He can do the 50w in snakeskin or 100w in any another color so now I'm trying to decide if FOMO will keep me from enjoying the 50w version. He also said he has an order in for a Bogner Snorkler! That will be an insta-buy for me!

Ok here’s a gut shot they sent my bud who just ordered the Marcus. Not sure what model but looks ok to me. Naturally non labeled components but it’s coming from Eastern Europe and a new amp is $600… I’m not expecting Friedman builds.
These seem to be solid builds all money considered. Tube's are away from main board and the components seem to be through-hole.....

Pretty good quality.....

Maybe one would just want to upgrade transformers and a couple caps and transistors for this dough and still come out with an above average Amp for not a whole lot.

I messaged homie about the Wizard MCII

Fuck yeah! I’d love to know its total travel time when you get it. Also let us know if you get fucked with import fees…

Definitely!!

I only have one account stating that there was no import issues so will see. Frankly also just worried about which local shipper will be doing the delivery. My complex has a package locker but depending sometimes drivers leave packages literally just in a random spot in the parking lot :facepalm

What would upgrading the transformers do?

I know toroidal transformers are uncommon in guitar amps (AFAIK certain laneys are the only mass produced amps using them in any models?) but I'm not necessarily sure as to why. I can't necessarily see any disadvantages on a surface level at least

Cost afaik. I think they are a little more expensive. Maybe availability in quantity.

The benefit is supposed to be less size and hum.

Some of the brands/models I know that use them:
  • Bluetone
  • Egnater Tourmaster (interestingly, not on the Renegade, Rebel etc)
  • Fryette LXII
  • Synergy 5050 and SYN-2
  • Laney Ironheart 60/120
  • Stephenson
