I heard today that Liam Neeson has been cast as Frank Drebin in the Naked Gun reboot.

I'm kinda excited about that

Man, I miss absurdist comedies so much. The Other Guys was the last movie to sorta scratch that itch for me ("Aim for the bushes!"), but it's clearly in a different vein from classics like Airplane! or Top Secret.

The Other Guys is sooooooooooo good. 14 years later we're still quoting it amongst friends. "Can't have a conscience in the pimp game!"

Have you watched Danger Five? Two seasons of wacky antics. I think it's the closest to having a similar vibe to Airplane, Naked Gun etc.
