What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

Day off from work to deal with some other matters this morning, been spending the afternoon prepping for our first show of the year this Saturday

Busted out my LP for the first time in a while. Been in PRS lala land for hot minute. Don’t think I’ve busted out the LP for a show in nearly a year

God damn I forgot how hard this thing fucks :love:love:love

It will make its triumphant return to stage on Saturday fo shizzle
How do you like the Roadster? I have one and I haven't plugged it in for a while. I was just thinking that I should plug it in soon and revisit the amp. I gigged it for a decent while but had a night where I just hated how it was sounding and that was the last gig it saw.

I'm a big fan of Roadsters, it was a grail amp I wanted as a teenager and it still ticks all the boxes I want. The only "complaint" I have about it is a hyper specific personal issue - I do a lot of live looping with my band, that sometimes includes layering clean and high gain loops over each other, and the FX loop "listens" differently on channel 1 vs. channel 4 causing some unwanted volume changes and discrepancies with my looper. I did find a relatively solid work around by running channel 1 in 100 watts and channel 2 in 50 watt mode and just being very particular about how I balance all the volumes

For that reason, the 5153 has kinda taken over as my main gigging amp but I still love the roadster and its not going anywhere any time soon.

The distorted tones on this EP my band did last year are all roadster (cleans are ad30 model on axe fx III):

I’ve been meaning to get into the studio this week, it’s the first week I’ve taken a break from sitting in there for 6 hours straight after work since I got those HS8’s almost 2 months ago. The Electra Dyne just keeps saying “Plug something into me, you know you’re gonna like it” and it hasn’t been wrong.

Finally had a chance to play some guitar this week, thought it was off to a bad start. I had played with my girlfriend's Stratocaster the other day, which has a battery inside of it and doesn't need my EMG ES-918 external power supply for the pickups. I plug in today, and I'm getting nothing at all. Awesome! Turns out I plugged the cables back into the wrong jack, so it drained the batteries. Once I figured that out, it was simple enough to fix the issue and get one with things. Still, I would've preferred to spend the time (ten minutes or so) playing guitar.

New Ibanez restring, fretboard treatment, (parched rosewood board) fret polish
PS Lube all friction points

What did you treat it with Mike ?
Dunlop Fretboard Cleaner, then conditioner, then Lemon oil, does a nice job
I do that to every new guitar with Rosewood and Ebony boards

PS i also lubed all friction points, nut, string tree and Trem Pivots

You burn wood for heat, too, right?

Have an in home humidifier source, by chance? :idk
Yes my Room/Studio/Office is kept @ ~ 45-56 Relative Humidity
The Ibby Rosewood board came drier than a bone lol
But all good now

Any Ibanez Rosewood board I've ever had has been dryer than @la szum's <insert joke 'object' here> after Thursday night band practice and riding home on his Harley with his mouth open!

A different/odd subspecies? An extreme drying process? Aliens? All of these?!

There's only so much you can do, and you definitely don't want any oily stuff soaking in there for long. I generally start at 1 and come back and wipe dry, any longer is a risk. Rumors/talk I've always heard said there's not a whole lot you can reallllly do to put moisture in Rosewood once it's gone. @Eagle surely would be the expert here.

I am leery of acidic/citrus based oils.

:sofa

I actually prefer a wax if a board is super dry. It won't run all over the place and is
more viscous and will soak in.

I have so many guitars, I can't remember when was the last time I changed the strings on any one them. So I created a spreadsheet to keep track.

First log is my Gibson Custom Modern Double Cut. Whoever said a siverburst is ugly is must hate everything else as well.

Been seeing some markings on a couple guitars, minor except for the Vox Bobcat which must have a unique finish - but even it isn't a big deal.

So... today I put GHC's (guitar hanger condoms) on all my hangers. Bought a 12-pack of 100% cotton gloves from Amazon and for 98%, I used the "middle finger", as the other's generally weren't long enough (TWSS). Kinda' fitting anyway, amirite? :hmm

I mean I could've spent $15 PER HANGER from String Swing to fix their design flaw, but that logic escaped me. Plus, they only sell in white, which would look like ass for all but two of my guitars.

Probably could've found better gloves but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And here's the sole remaining middle finger, for String Swing themselves.:cuss And I'm showing my foot at the bottom, ready for their ass! :grin
