Ill give it a shot… when i play leads its hard for me to think switching pick ups. :)That was awesome dude! When you went up for that bend at 1:17, I was thinking you'd switch to the neck PU. Some cream might work well right there.
I listen to too much Petrucci! Er, I mean, a lot of Petrucci.Ill give it a shot… when i play leads its hard for me to think switching pick ups. :)
that was the plan to switch to neck but my brain glitched out…. You can see after those long bends i did switch to neck….I listen to too much Petrucci! Er, I mean, a lot of Petrucci.
Just remember..., it's "Majesty", spelled backwards.yesty jam … i cant remember exactly what its called.
The Lindert is horrible but the Tyler has grown on me over the years. Helped by how good the guitars are.
The Indonesian Soloist is good for the money but the pickups and hardware need to be replaced. I am surprised they make a Soloist that cheap at all but you do get a Laurel fingerboard and plastic inlays. I would look for a second hand USA SSL3 .Finally got my Soloist (the second one, that first one sucked and I sold it within days of getting it) last night.
Set it up today, then this evening I yanked the bridge pup and replaced it with an Elysian Trident II.
Gotta say, as much as I love this guitar, I was pretty disappointed to see the trash $15 pickup Jackson sold it with…
But, I did spend hours playing it today and wrote some fun new riffs that will likely wind up in something soon.
Now to sell something to free up the cash for a Gotoh 1996T to replace the FR Special and some new tuners.
I grabbed this to have a beater next to my desk (work from home) that I can grab and plunk on during breaks, etc. Scored a good deal on it knowing I was going to swap the pup and hardware, so I got what I wanted/paid for and I'm happy with it. I'd love to have a USA Soloist some day, but it wouldn't be an SSL3 as I don't like middle pickups and really have no use for them. Now, an HH or HS, that I could get with...The Indonesian Soloist is good for the money but the pickups and hardware need to be replaced. I don't think I've ever seen a negative comment about a Tyler's playability, sound or build quality. The Lindert is horrible but the Tyler has grown on me over the years. Helped by how good the guitars are.
G&B pickups used by all the big names are around $5 each which is one of the reasons that Charvel guitars are so incredible value having top branded parts on guitars costing under $1k.I grabbed this to have a beater next to my desk (work from home) that I can grab and plunk on during breaks, etc. Scored a good deal on it knowing I was going to swap the pup and hardware, so I got what I wanted/paid for and I'm happy with it. My disappointment just comes in as these were closing in on a grand brand new, with non-swirled SLX DXs just a little less, and the pickups probably cost Jackson $2.50 each... I know there's insane markup in brand new guitars in most retail environments, but that seems excessive. I guess it's just... #Fender...
Just another reason to like Solars: Duncan pickupsG&B pickups used by all the big names are around $5 each which is one of the reasons that Charvel guitars are so incredible value having top branded parts on guitars costing under $1k.
I got studio burn over the weekend and the last two weeks, I’ve just been couch jamming with the Shiva this week. Got ultra-boomery with a Zendrive in front of it, amp Gain down around 5-6 w/ just the Multitap Delay in the loop, some ridiculous tones with the Orville there. I gotta record a clip of it, but the in-between position of the pickups on that Orville sound like a cocked wah/phase pedal stuck in one spot, there’s like this ‘ooowwaaa’ around the start of the notes that’s I’ve never heard come out of any other guitar I own. No clue how I’ll end up using it, but it‘s fun as hell switching pickups and jumping to it.
I wonder if it is out of phase like Greenie. I did that to an LP one time when
I installed pickups in it, and the phase was flipped in the Middle position. I
left it. Has that nasally honk to it.
Gary Moore has quite a few songs/solos with that tone when he owned Greenie.
