What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

I spent some time with this one

I've been wanting to try something different with this guitar, so got some red pickups and knobs.

Dimarzio pickups -- Injector [n], Heavy Blues 2 (m), FRED (b)
This combo works very well. I'm happy how it sounds.

I'm going to go harass Alison at EMG for red SAs for my David Gilmour CAR style Stratocaster maybe January or February 2024. Also, big headstock = hell yeah!

Got my 5153 MIDI’d up with the FM9 and a general template preset made with Clean/Rhythm/Boosted/Lead scenes. I posted this in the NAW thread, but I’ll stick it here as well.

This is how I practice playing while singing songs; I fuck them up repeatedly until I get it right. It’s hard to hear exactly what I screw up as it’s happening because I’m thinking about the next part, so recording it helps. This is all mistakes, but just like recording, I keep plugging through until the end as if it were a live performance.

BEAST!! :headbang

Bit of a delay shootout today. Set the Boogie up as clean as a babies butt and then had everything daisy chained so quick AB'ing was easy. Synced up repeats and then tried the El Cap in both modes and the Nemesis in both analog and digital.

the runners up

the winner - speaking of Japan......

Flat out cleanest and sweetest delay - actually somewhere in between the other pedals' analog and digital voices - just really nice. The other cool thing is the taper on the mix and feedback controls is wider? Both the DD-3T and DM-2W are perfect around noon but very quickly become too much or too little as you go up or down. The DD-3 just has a bigger sweet spot to work with. Really nice!

Every now and then something actually lives up to the hype. (y)

I'm embarrassed to say, but after all these years of playing I've never tried a Boss delay? :facepalm
It's actually kind of hard to believe considering its ubiquitousness over many years.

I've never tried a Boss delay?

Bought a DD-3 when they were first released. Must have had it on pre-order with one of the local shops cause I remember it being one of the first sold. Bad memory is sitting with it and a cassette Portastudio and experimenting while getting ready to watch the live coverage of the Space Shuttle Challenger launch.

On a lighter note, was just thinking really hard about it and the only Boss pedal I've consistently used throughout the many years has been one of their delays. A chorus sees occasional use but that's really it. No reverbs, compressors, ODs, EQs, etc. Weird.

Not as fucking weird as you though....... :rofl
Never? :facepalm
