What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

No. The neighbors come home.

Oh, yep!!! It happened two weeks ago when I was doing a bunch of background vocals for a big harmony, I was basically going "Ooooooh Ooooooooooohhhhhh" over and over again in different pitches, getting them horribly wrong the first few times I'd go to add another harmony, then I hear them shuffling around next door.

They've definitely heard some screaming, too. The guy downstairs has an office below me, because I have a shitload of compression and a little distortion on the screaming signal chain I can hear every noise of an apartment in my headphones. I've heard him get up and walk out of the room a few times in the last 3 years. :rofl

New toy came in. Noodled away.

Pulled the MCP Detroiter out of my Heritage H-157 as it’s been giving me fits with microphonics at high volumes ever since I put a cover on it. Tried doing the silicone on some tape between the cover and slug coil but no luck. Today I tried wax potting at home. Got a mason jar and set it in a sauce pan with some boiling water to melt the paraffin wax, brought the temp down then put the pickup in. Still had a great reading on it when all was said and done. I’ll try it at volume tomorrow but I had sounds coming out of it using my Orange into Captor into DAW and it sounded like it always did direct in.

GM; on a side note...is your profile pic of Gold Dust with a Texas Chainsaw Massacre-style reskin of Jeepers Creepers?

While attempting to write some parts for a moody/synthy almost new wave song my bass player pitched I accidentally got inspired and wrote a skeleton structure of a more uptempo math rock wannabe chon (-not- polyphia  ) sort of thing. I’m in the honeymoon stage right now, until I utterly despise it tomorrow

I have an Epiphone ES Les Paul that I haven't played for a couple years. I plugged it in the other day and I was getting very low output from the neck pickup, Probably a dirty pickup switch. This guitar does not have control covers to access the switch.

I was able to remove the neck pickup and fish the switch through that cavity. You can see that the center block is cut away to allow access to the switch.

I cut a spare switch tip in half to hold the fishing line and give me enough clearance to get the switch back into position.

I used a thin strip of sandpaper to clean the contacts, followed by a squirt of DeOxit. I worked the switch a couple dozen times and it's now as good as new. :beer

I'm glad you approve, you were on my list of forum bros that I was concerned would not of the trade

My LP and Strat are untouchable, but otherwise I've gone stark raving mad for PRS
SGs are awesome. But they are also SUPER easy to fall out of favor with, for whatever reason? You are indeed in PRS Mania rn so it makes complete sense to do this trade I'd say.

I really love the pelham blue, and it feels, plays, and sounds great, but I just don't reach for it as often as anything else. I got a little disheartened back in March I was planning on brining it to a gig but the P90s are just too damn noisy for the levels of gain I use, and they aren't wired as such that hum can be cancelled in the middle position. Volume discrepancy between the bridge and neck pups irks me a bit too (nature of the beast).

I was kind of planning on getting some BKPs in there, but a mccarty is on my short list, and that is the most impressive top I've seen on an S2. Guy wants to meet up, just waiting to hear back on a time
