What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

Haven't played a hell of a lot lately. It's a new school year, we have some new live ones at work and the transition has been rough so energy is spent on dinner and crawling towards bed.

Today I stayed home and waited for the utility company to get here and move my power line to the other side of my house. Not so bad for me, only waiting since 7am and they arrived shortly before 2pm. I just feel for the electricians that had to wait too.

I re-set up my living room amp area and had some fun. It had been a while since I just ran a long cable from amp to guitar with nothing in between. Just a little spring reverb and my Ibanez AZ.

@fretworn
Nice! I have a pair of those too. :beer
At first you think "are these things gonna be stable?" lol. But they work just fine.

OK quick range report …

Wow! Took a lot of the lows off the desk… They’re sitting a little high, so I’m gonna put the shorter legs in.

You are so correct about the wobbly bits lmao 😜

ha!
Unfortunately I have my monitors and stands broken down atm, I'm going to reorganize my music room these next few weeks. Thinking about building some acoustic panels to put in spots because I'd like to not use headphones all the time.

Coolio - it's the one room I don't mind cleaning. lol

Oh, I try lol. I do fine for a few weeks, maintaining well, then all the sudden 3 days later it's like "wtf happened in here??!" :facepalm
I guess I work better in clutter? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :rofl

Me too :bag

I’m always that guy who’s talking about that if I cut her desk is the sign of a cluttered mind… Then what’s the sign of an empty desk?

Makes sense. My guitars haven't looked like that since I lived in.... FL. :grin
Love that guitar and finish though.:chef
I haven't played it in over 6 months when I broke the A string. Being lazy and having a few other guitars from which to choose are the source of my neglect. It's getting some much needed TLC today.

I've been working on this today for a bit:

Never Enough.png

Opening riff to Never Enough Dream Theater (of course.)

It's fast- 128 BPM, and the syncopation is tricky, but tonight I started playing it the 2nd way, and using an economy pick stroke to get the notes from the A to the E string, and even though I had to slow it way down to get it even, it became SO much easier than trying to do those wide stretches all on the E string.

I've been wanting to get this riff for so long, and now it's within my grasp!! I'm stoked!

But the other cool part, is I've gotten my pull-offs on that low string to the point where I'm not hitting the A, and muting the E when I hit the notes on the A, and rolling my finger, so the entire riff is staying clean & tight, even as I speed it up. I'm at about 110 comfortably, which is where I'm gonna stay until it's 2nd nature.

Imma get this fucker!
