What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

Me??
I’m ALWAYS jammin’.
Look, I get it, y’all think
I’m a few sandwiches short of a picnic, I get it.
I’m not Strange, I’m Jay Strange.
I play guitar solo’s with comments on gear forums & YouTube.
-you make ANY comment, I find the key & the groove.. and begin improvising with words.
“Mining the seam”.
I write words INSIDE of words, if you pay attention.
I’m not talking Bam Margera’s numeric system he created, btw.
What this ultimately does?
-it doesn’t matter what instrument I’m playing,
I’m on the edge of the coin listening with PRECISION & POISE ready to let it rip.
You sound like someone I wouldn't mind hanging out with!

In the old times we called this "Poor man's fix". Today we call it "Responsible Sustainable Recycling" :rofl

I am shocked. I didn't break a string for at least 25 or 30 years. What has changed? These years I have been almost exclusively playing and abusing Strats and Super Strats. Now I was playing a Gary Moore bend on a PRS McCarty 594 SE that I've purchased recently.

It has broken at the tuning peg contact point. The stings are NYXL

A simple question, what did you do with your guitar(s) today? Did you change the strings? Tune it up? Plug into your favorite amp or modeler? Did you actually play your guitar? Did you record something? Did you play a gig? Did it make you feel better?

Anything is good. I'll start...

I needed to put a solo onto one of my tracks. I couldn't decide if it should be a guitar solo or synth solo. So I settled on a guitar synth solo (Boss SY-1000).

Yes, we can all get along :beer

I changed the string a lot when I was still playing it.

Sounds reasonable. I've only heard good things about them.
I went and pulled the trigger given they are out of stock at Ilitch and he’s apparently very backed up at the moment. I’ve got some nasty EMI I can’t track down, so hopefully it’ll help.

I’m pretty confident that it’s something external and not coming from my home. I’ve gone down the noiseless pickup route but they just didn’t cut it for me. I’m absolutely smitten over these Fat 50’s, so I want to exhaust all options before calling it quits.

Ilitch BPNCS installed. It works as advertised, but it’s definitely not a 100% reduction, specifically when you add overdrive. I’d say it’s closer to 85-90%. I’m going to do some additional shielding in the cavities, as the guitar only has the foil backing on the pickguard.

They work but you can hear the effect in the tone.

Never thought I’d say this, but I’ve grown tired of the 57/08’s in my PRS. Don’t get me wrong, they sound great, but they were just ok. Maybe a little two polite?

So I’ve been doing the typical insane act of reading and researching of what to try next, when I remembered that I had a JB and ‘59 that I pulled from my San Dimas. So I said what the hell and threw them in. God damn did they wake up this guitar!

Now I know that a hot-ass Alnico V is exactly what I need for the bridge. Something with a “voice” like the JB. However, I’m not too sure about the ‘59. It’s a little timid compared to the JB. Any suggestions?
