In fairness to Always Sunny that first episode is a crossover episode with another tv show and lets face it, crossover episodes are almost never a good idea

What's odd is Dennis plays a teacher in another series (AP Bio) that is actually really good and for some reason; my brain kept telling me it was going to be a crossover with that show. Which would have been funny seeing the 2 Dennis' meet face to face; freaky friday style or whatever.

I watched the first two episodes yesterday and yeah, first one wasn’t that great. They deviate from their regular format sometimes, and sometimes it works but a lot of times it doesn’t. I didn’t realize it was a crossover with another show.
2nd episode was classic always sunny format and I liked it, definitely funny, especially the twist at the end.

It can be a bit slow, and a bit repetitive with the political/ spycraft themes, but yes, excellent overall.

Just finished the new Turning Point series about the Vietnam war. Harrowing stuff. I'll probably re-watch the first two episodes since I wasn't able to pay full attention the first time.
The Turning Point series on the cold war and nuclear arms race vs. the Soviet Union was really great, too.

...annnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddd episode 3 is up to par with some of the best in the series. So much for a bad season
