What are we watching now?

Watched this last night because you piqued my curiosity  I enjoyed it again for probably the first time in ATLEAST 30 years if not more. If I recall; it was a pretty big deal at the time? Watching again now struck me as a PG version of Porky's style comedy. Fairy corny but had some heart to it. I would say I preferred Three O'clock more just because it was a bit smarter in tone.
I will take fairly corny with some heart than the modern shit, which mostly is devoid of heart and takes itself more seriously than it should.

Well watching these types of movies from my era, corny or not; resonates because I was of that age at that time period. Watching current stuff about current teenager struggles obviously doesn't hit the same way. And makes me glad we didn't have social media back then :bag

I believe we're talking about two different things. I am talking about films in general.

Went to see Jurassic World Rebirth. It was not terrible...but also not great. Characters are paper thin, and it's a fairly by-the-numbers affair but still enjoyable enough that I didn't hate it.

Hostiles with Bale.

I grew up with a father who always showed me “western” movies… or sci-fi. Nothing in between. I’m quite damaged. But yeah, these kind of “western” I like. It must be dark, depressing, horrible, terrifying and sad.

Hostiles does it… it doesn’t get as epic as I would like, but it was good.. and touching in all the right ways. And Bale did good.

Watched Opus on max this morning. Lolwtf was that. Thriller with John Malkovich as a sex pot pop star/cult leader

Bizarre watch but I guess I was engaged and entertained. (Of course it was an A24 film) :rofl

Now starting with the Quo 👍🍺
Watching with my daughter who was 40 in June.
When this concert went out live she spent the whole UK and US concert laying on my chest except for nappy changes 😎

Me and the Mrs. been watching episodes of M.AS.H. We binged all 11 seasons on DVD years ago, and I grew up watching it on TV. But we hadn’t seen any in maybe a decade or so. Seeing Alan Alda in The Four Seasons reminded us again and we found quite a many later series episodes on YT.

What incredible TV. They really pioneered a dual plot format and perfected it over the years. Great writing and top notch acting, especially from Alda. Mostly we’re catching the late series episodes with Harry Morgan.

The dual plot format brings one dramatic strand and one light hearted strand. If it was only one or the other, it would not be as appealing to us. But it’s the side by side story telling that works, from poignancy to foolery, laughing to crying, horror and joy in every episode, that kept us both watching.

Son and i finished Saul. Wow… what a great show it was. I liked it more that BB. BB was awesome in its own way. But the story in Saul is just more interesting.

Next up is Squid game… promised him we watch the hole thing, I’ve never seen it but he watched the first season when he was 10… don’t judge me. I am a good parent…. Really… I am!!!

Then after that. Attack on Titan, because… it’s a good story I heard.

Wow right after Better Caul Saul - most shows are gonna suck for a while. We just finished the third (and final?) season of Squid games. Honestly it was just dragged out too much IMO.

Since you are familiar with BB, this gave me a great chuckle:
