Video Games

My Switch has never left its dock. 😂 I heard that BOTW and TOTK are incredible on the Switch 2, but I dig the graphics as well as is. I’ve put so much time into the games, one-hundred-percenting both, so I doubt the improvements are enough to get me to play through both again.

Whatever they’re working on, I hope the next installment blows them out of the water. But we may be waiting a while.
I just couldn't get into TOTK but I'm very ready to hop back in on the Switch 2 with the improvements.

Wtf man :rofl The whole idea behind the switch is that you play before going to sleep, in the bed, avoiding any kind of bed talk from the wife so she can shut up roll her thumb on whatever social media feed. It’s a brilliant plan!
I’ve honestly never been a fan of handheld gaming. I think the last handheld I’ve owned was the original Game Boy. I prefer my large LCD TV and home theater system over handheld when gaming.

Continued Doom: The Dark Ages. I'm not really feeling it. I can see where they were going with it but I'm not really enjoying it as much as the previous ones. I think it has some good ideas but I'm not loving the execution.

Nightreign released at mignight. I logged on for brief look - failed the tutorial at 2AM then wandered about Roundtable Hold without any coin. I'll get to it over the weeked properly, but I expect an early Patch or re-balance.

Watched my son try it with friends last night at 12:00 in the night :bonk Great fun (I enjoy watching ER, not playing…) and they had a lot of laughs. They did one session to an end boss. I’d say it’s a great concept and addition to Elden Ring.

This is the first From Software game since Demon's Souls I won't be buying, sadly. It just doesn't look that interesting to me.

I'm still waiting for a good enough sale on Armored Core 6. But agree, won't be getting Nightreign. It seems like a game that is fun for a while but seems a lot more like a mod for Elden Ring than something new.

I basically did nothing all weekend besides play Nightreign lmao

Think I got 5 or 6 of the main Nightlords down so far

It's insanely fucking difficult and addicting, and it's only gonna improve as they add more content

LOVE IT

I finally beat BOTW a few months back and really enjoyed it. I got most of the way through last year but got a bit bored and restarted this week.

Haven't bought TOTK yet but sounds like I should buy it for the Switch soon for the "lower" price.

Also sounds like the upgrades fro Switch 2 are free if you have the Nintendo Online subscription which I do.

Handheld is the only reason I have the Switch. I play almost exclusively laying in bed at the end of the day. My kids are always using the main TV and the teenager has the Xbox in his room with his own TV.

It can be a good idea to take a break after BotW. TotK has largely the same map, just expanded in various ways so it might feel too familiar even though a lot of the mechanics are new.

Continued Doom: The Dark Ages. After unlocking a bunch more weapons it has gotten more fun, but I still miss the breakneck pace of the previous games. Super Shotgun is still king, but the iron ball launcher thing is super fun too.

Storywise it's dull AF. The characters are so paper thin.

Level design is forgettable, even though visually pretty.

Yeah I went through and played some other games. I'm replaying Rune Factory 4 now, did the Power Wash Simulator (hey that was a nice diversion for a couple weeks), played a couple others I can't remember.

TOTK is a huuugggeee game. I recently revisited BOTW and without the Sky Islands and The Depths, it feels tiny in comparison.

Yeah I mean the depths is essentially the top world but underground and while not as spacious the sky islands do their own thing.

My big gripe with the game is the building. I wish it wasn't as prevalent but I know some people love it. I'm just not creative 😂

Ultra-Hand and Fuse? I actually enjoy solving puzzles using it. Although, once you gain Auto-Build and build one of these bad boys, that’s about all you really need for the rest of the game:
