TwoNotes GENOME!!!

Hi Guys,

I hope you're all well. I am pleased to say we have a new version of GENOME Available today - Version 1.14!

GENOME v1.14 expands the amplifier lineup with three new premium TSM-Ai amps, each inspired by iconic British designs — plus a major evolution of a modern classic.

Albion Astria (inspired by the Marshall® Astoria Dual AST3) - Boutique clarity, touch-sensitive breakup, and refined British character.
Albion ’92 (inspired by the Marshall® Super Bass “1992”) - Big iron energy, bold low end, and classic British authority with Variac feel.
NastyFoxy (inspired by a modded Vox® AC100) - Glassy chime meets raw gain and unapologetic attitude.
Albion ’59 Update (inspired by the Marshall® Super Lead 1959) - New CLASSIC / HOT voicing for extra cut, bite, and immediacy.

Albion Astria, Albion '92 and NastyFoxy are all Premium Amplifiers, Free to GENOME Suite License holders and available for purchase by GENOME (non-Suite) license holders for 19.99€/$ per amp.

Really excited to hear what you all think about this update!
Can't wait to try it when I get home, but this sounds like an excellent update and more TSM-AI Marshalls are most welcome :beer

Genome AI amps feel lighter on CPU compared to Amalgam Audio and other NAM profiles on my M1 MacBook Air. Most of the time I can run them at 16 samples on a Motu M2, whereas heavier NAM profiles start crackling until I go to 32 or 64 samples.

One thing that got my attention in the update notes was this:
  • GENOME’s login and licensing system has been refined to offer improved loading time at startup.
  • GENOME now features improved knob dragging behavior across Components.
I'm curious to see if this fixes an issue I have where I need to drag knobs beyond a certain point so they start changing values and showing visual feedback.

Congrats on the update!

Thanks for all the info. Are we supposed to run the new UNINSTALLER, before this new version? IF SO, are all our presets we've written GONE , or will reappear when we update? Thanks in advance for the answers, Eric

I have no presets in my presets folder on my computer (OSX). How do I back up all my presets? Even if I export each preset, the export says it is saving the file, but no file gets saved. Weird. They are all there and work in the app - just wondering how to back them all up in case.

I found the same . . They seemed to save in "Banks" instead of "FX Presets", and then I'd try to save them in 'Fx Presets" and it says they're already there, but they're not visible to me. I finally got to the point I saved them in 'Fx Presets" but they show as 'unhighlighted 'tnr' files, and thus not-choosable. I've always had a hard time figuring out this work-process /saving thing with Genome. It sure sounds great though. I think I'll await other people's experiences before 'uninstalling' and 'updating' to the new version, to see how people were able to keep their presets they set up

Yes - it is weird the way those backup folders are all empty. I updated the new software last night without uninstalling it - went just fine - kept all the presets - no issues at all. But I would like to back up all my presets because they are so tailored to me and I'd hate to have to go through it all again if I lost them.

Trying Genome after quite a long gap. Tin hat time here, but may as well just be honest with my experience.

I still don't feel like the power amp modelling sounds correct - for instance, the Peavey 5150 model. The taper and response of the MV is nothing at all alike the real thing. In fact, all of it just feels weird to me.

Trying a few other amps and the master volume behaviour seems similar across all of them (SLO, Badlands, XTC). It's almost like a theoretical generic master volume behaviour rather than a 1:1 model. There are algorithmic models that get this way closer already.

I'm excited about the implementation of the TSM-AI stuff but I dont think it's there yet. It's impressive how quick Two Notes are turning out amp models, but IMO they should work on improving the tones more as IMO they kind of need re-doing.

Comparison clips here. IMO its lagging quite far behind all of the other ones I tested:

Oh and still no mono instances (so all following plugins have to be stereo and panning can become fiddly). And I had a bug where making the instance inactive and then active again reset all the settings back to default.

personally i don't care if they are not 100% accurate. If i can get my sounds.

It's been decades fhat manufactures claimed tubes were now replaced. Fact is that not even 2 tube amps sound and respond exactly the same.

But that's personal of course.
The question is. Do you hear it in the mix or do you just get what you want. ;)

The whole reason I did the test in the first place was because it sounded and felt off. If it sounded correct to me i wouldn’t have gone in to check.

So i guess the answer is both? Did you listen to the clips I posted? all the others sound much more like a 5150 and closer to each other despite the fact they’re all modelled from different units.

I had the same feeling across all the amps here. Disappointing.
