Sorta like this one …

Finalizing this week.

Ibanez made one a few years ago, the SRC6

I was doing the dishes while that vid was playing in the background, towards the end I was like, "Did he say I can get this for under $500?!!?" then rant back and rewound it. "Oh.....the Squire is under $500." :guiness

I just linked a vid to that in one of the guitar groups on FB because some dude was complaining about not being able to tune down low enough without having floppy strings and didn't want to change string gauges. I'm more inclined to grab one of those than I am the Bass VI.

Just spoke to Rob at PipeDream Fretworks about the chop6

Finalizing the vision… He also mentioned he’d be dropping photos and videos along the way…

Super stoked about that.

Can’t hardly wait!

Ok, getting anxious… need this badly about now.

I know all those rains in California hit pretty hard and set him back a little bit. I’m sure we’re making great progress about now.

Spoke with Rob earlier this week… Found a board sitting in my garage that might make it into an instrument.

I’ve had that maple blank for about seven years… He had sent me a beautiful picture of a guitar just finished for a client in quilted maple that is drop dead gorgeous.

These are some other samples of his chop6 with maple caps!

I've got one. It's amazing. They make a multi-scale one now, SRCM6 or something.

@fretworn That wood looks great!

But you're saying there's definitely a delay now because body wood hasn't been available; is that it?

No… All good luthiers have backlogs. When I send a deposit on a build (and I have two out right now.) I get the ETA on their backlog with occasional updates.

Plus, I like chatting w/ cool craftsman!

No different than a good gunsmith or any other skilled maker. You can only scale so much.

Talking to Rob about the OG build, he just sent me a picture of the last guitar he made, and it prompted me to wander out in the garage and grab that board to chat about.

We’ve played a little bit in the color/wood design, but I don’t care as long as he makes it sound and look good.

I have complete confidence. 👍
