I have Apple music and just play random stuff when I work out. The other day I had the Over the Top soundtrack playing, because I love 80s soundtracks, and Meet Me Halfway by Kenny Loggins comes on. I have always dug that greasy delay-soaked solo and I see that it was done by Dann Huff. I don’t know why I had thought Tim pierce played that.
He was always a huge topic/influence on HRI back in the day, but I had never gotten into strictly studio musicians and I never really got that one In My Dreams song they only ever play on Hair Nation from Giant.
But I decided to peel back some layers and see his discography—the dude plays on so many memorable tracks and scores, like Top Gun for instance.
Then it hit me — I have been a Dann Huff fan for years and didn’t even realize it!
