Vox is selling the Bobcat S66 and V90 on Reverb.com for $499. These normally sell for $1499 MSRP. These got favorable reviews at list price. They seem like a steal at $499. They are brand new from Vox with a 14 day return period. They come with original hardshell case.

Links are to Sunburst. They also have black and cherry at the same price.

Listen to this demo from Tim Pierce for tones from the V90. Of course Tim Pierce can make anything sound good. Never the less, the tones are pretty good, especially for $499. Used they are going for $750 and up on Guitar Center used website. So pretty low risk if you're looking for a deal on an under 7lb semi-hollow guitar with unique tones.

I've had one for 1.5 years. Other than the tuners (which I replaced with lockers) it's a solid guitar! I spent $1200 ish on mine at the time, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What tuners did you install? Were they drop in or did you have to make any modifications?

Did you buy the V90 or S66? At that price, I couldn't resist. I should be able to get what I paid if I don't like it. But based upon the YouTube videos, my guess is that I'll like them both. I just wish that they were selling the Blue Sapphire V90 with Bigsby tailpiece at a similar deal. I like the blue color the best, but any of them are good looking guitars.

I used GraphTech PRL-8341-C0 Ratio's on my V90. Had to ream the holes a bit, was easy - just go slow. These tuners come with various plates, and one set lined up with one screw hole - so I had to drill one screw hole per tuner.

I think the vintage look matches up well with the guitar and they are f'n excellent. The originals were damn near useless for me. Worse I'd ever had on 15+ guitars, but then some people say they're fine. So go figure?¯\_(ツ)_/¯

WOW I WISH THE v90 was 500.00...or the v90 with bigsby
I saw somewhere recently that they were $500! Probably TOP :facepalm

EDIT: Newp, the V90's apparently aren't, just the 3-pickup versions.

I bought into this Reverb sale last year because I can't resist a blowout/of clearance of a quirky underselling guitar. I got both the V90 and S66 versions at $500, since I had a good experience with those clearance Vox SSC-33 guitars with the Co-Axe pickups

My other semi-hollow/hollow body guitars are a Gretsch G5420T and Epiphone ES-335 , also obtained through sales at $500 and $400. The workmanship (eg. fretwork, F-hole dressing) on the Voxes are a step up. I might not consider these guitars at $1500, but they would be properly priced around the $1000 range. The hardshell case is a very nice bonus, on par with the $100+ offerings.

The voicings of the pickups are very unique, which was the main reason for my purchases. I went with the V90 version first. I had read about the V90 being described as a Jazzmaster/P90 hybrid, but I think it's even more of an individual voice than that. I really like the V90 version with Vox-y and Tweedy overdrive.

Based on that experience, I grabbed the S66 due to FOMO. I thought it would just be a semi-hollow strat, which is a fun novelty. But it doesn't sound exactly like a Strat side by side. I ended up liking the S66 even more than the V90. The bridge pickup works better than a Strat bridge pickup for driven sounds. The pickups sound great for playing in the style of those "The" bands from the early 2000s (The Strokes, The Hives, etc.). Both guitars do the indie rock thing very well in all pickup positions.

I might have some clips somewhere, but am currently on vacation.
