The Pot Partaker's Lounge

Oh, I'm being silly. :grin Totally get it.
Very nice garden, and fencing!:beer
Seriously though, I have been trying to change and be more willing to ....so we may be on to something here.

Thanks, I really try.

That damn fence and the interior posts... along with the chicken wire along the bottom, to keep out hungry deer and other wildlife, cost me soooo much money. It isn't perfect, and I skimped on the third fence rail boards to save some cash....but, it does the job. It's 60' * 80'.

Also built the whole thing by myself, because the wife and I don't work together very well..... oops.

It's mostly there for wind protection and to anchor my trellis netting across, in layers....there will be another layer that spans north to south, criss crossing.

Thanks for the compliment. I don't show too many people, and I don't do growers forums because they are worse than most guitar forums. :rofl

I've done enough fencing to know I don't want to do it for a living lol. Hard work.

Hello all, just thought I'd drop a couple pics of my garden....one of them anyway....just to brighten someone's day.

At my age, and all I've been through, and all the shit I have put up with smoking the pot...this is so special to me.

I started growing cannabis about 20 years ago, tried all the methods...and now this is all I do every year....my dad and I ran a combo garden together for about 10 years, until he died....he never let me do anything my way....so this is my memorial garden that I do by myself every year, in his memory...and for my mom's medicine.

Last year my wife's adopted dad passed from the same cancer my dad did...so we spread his ashes in the garden this year, for luck ...and because he loved our garden so much....rip Pops!

Anywho...here are a couple of pictures of my outdoor ladies.....feel free to ask any questions.View attachment 25469View attachment 25472

Epic! We definitely need to hang out sometime. :beer

I remember when my "Pops" found my Garden in the late 1990's.
He was not happy about it, but he didn't kill them or demand that
I do so. So I moved them to State Forest ground and watched every
mother fucking Helicopter that flew over head. I am so glad those
days of constant paranoia and fear are long gone! :brick

The worst was pulling my plants in my underwear and all body painted
up while the "law" circled over head repetitively. That was not a fun
September. They'd always hammer the Forest right prior to harvest
and during it, when the Plants were at their max size and visibility.
You know the drill, 50lbs of Marijuana seized in the Forest---when
it was more 5% of that weight when dried and cured.

In spite of the crapshow that is the world, we have many things to
be grateful for---including legal growing of a medicinal medicine
for the average Jane and Joe! :banana

I'm starting to think the same thing.....been feeling the itch to get out...but I usually don't leave during in gound season....just because old habits are hard to break.

My old man was one of my teachers, a tad too old school for me, "it's just a weed bud , it's knows what to do."

I am more of hybrid, new and old school approach.....but he was the boss when he was alive.

Now it's my show to run, for better or worse......no lies.... definitely better.

Care to share any of your fave strains? :idk

The odd thing is I have not grown since it was legal, and when it wasn't legal I was. :bonk

DOH!

Two of my closer musician friends grow---one outdoors and one indoors. I know what
I prefer. I believe the exposure to natural elements, and not micro-managing the environment
with an indoor grow is best for "a weed." :beer

You're Garden looks great! :chef

Too many to say ...but here are a few.....

Curveball, Couchlock, chemdawg, jilly bean, chaos.....

Got some old school ones out there this year...

Maui wowie.... LA confidential. Bruce Banner....GG #4.....NYC Diesel....super skunk...

Don't mind indoor....but it doesn't make financial sense....and it is to stressful and the yields are too low.

Honestly, I prefer mine, but I take a lot of care and time during the drying and curing stage....

It's all organic, no chemicals and I know where it came from, and how it was handled. I know too much about what actually happens behind the scenes in the weed industry, and shit is always getting recalled....even with the shitty testing protocols in place.

Not sure what is best per se, but I doubt that you can fit a 14 foot high, 12 foot wide, 22 foot around plant in most indoor grows ....so I need the outdoors ...and yes, one year that happened. It was awesome.

Wait so one can just walk into one of these places and show an id and purchase?
Depends on what state you are in! In Idaho, you can't buy sh!t (legally)!! In Colorado, you can buy all the THC you want, and some other things!!! In California, buy all you like! In Florida, medical only. The list goes on! Here is a guide to rules by state (per https://disa.com/marijuana-legality-by-state as of July 3, 2024):

I know it's conservative there, but so is Ohio....but some of the craziest people I have ever met, have been from Wisconsin. Just figured it was everywhere there. Hahaha. :beer
Pre and during world war II, it was everywhere in Wisconsin. The farmers were encouraged to grow it for the military efforts and it was a HUGE crop there! Still a lot of wild fields (with near zero THC content) in that state from what I understand. I have a friend in Wisconsin who grows for a CBD pharmacy. I too would think that Wisconsin would have been at the forefront of this societal evolution considering it's history of socialism, but this thorn has been in the side of Wisconsin users for a long time and no immediate relief in site ;~((

That sucks.

I am thankful for our situation here in Michigan, and kept my card when I was in college, just to protect myself.... financial aid and all....

But now we can have 12 plants per adult on residence.....for me, that's 36 plants......that's insane to me. Just how far things have come.

We use to have to post the paperwork for us ( caregiver) and all patients associated with the grow. Those days are long gone.....which is nice.

The whole thing was a joke anyway.... pay a doc 100 buck.....send state its cut....bam, piece o plastic in the mail. Glad to be done with all of it.

Hearing all of these strain names takes me back to my days living in CO.

GG is one of my personal favorites.
Yeah, this year had a theme....but I got some shitty seeds that didn't germinate, so it put a damper on my excitement, but I started back ups I had saved, and recovered nicely.

The theme for this year was connoisseur cannabis of the last 40 years.....start with wowie...tried to get Panama red.....but yeah ..I think it represents the past few decades well anyway....and then I did a Michigan bred strain that is killer, and I have grown for 3 years running....damn seeds cost 150 bucks....

But yep, that was the aim....good weed we remember basically. Even got some girl scout cookies. Another random one I like called KO Breath.
